How to Guarantee Finishers

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 7:34 pm

Alright, so the console says there are codes for setting your execution and decapitation chances to 100%. However, typing them both doesn't seem to do much, and I wonder if I'm doing it wrong.

I type "set decapitationchance to 100"

That didn't seem to do anything, so I tried "player.set decapitationchance to 100" and again, nothing. I am using one-handed power attacks and have the appropriate perk. Same deal for regular finisher moves. What's going on here?

You can't do deathblows if someone is kneeling.

are you sure the syntax is ""set decapitationchance to 100"?

I think you are missing some syntax.

Try "player.setdecapitationchance 100"

You need the object (player), the function (setcriticalchance) and the value, (100).

and I don't see "decapitation chance" in http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Wiki, I see criticalchance though.

Finishers occur less with dual wield because of animations combined with rapid attacks.

To make a finisher go off you have to meet these conditions:

1. only 1 enemy left/or one enemy actively engaged in combat against you.
2. You have to overwhelm their remaining HP with one blow.
3. You and the enemy cannot be stuck in recoil or strike animations. Often if you know you can pull a finisher - let up on your swings, let the animations reset, and then lay one nice and dead center - goes off quite often assuming conditions 1 and 2 are met.

Nice thing is you can pull finishers instantly from sneaks to the front with power attacks, as well as finishers from behind for throat slits.

Have fun.

You can actually, I used to carry a sword around on my mage just for this purpose. I've only been able to pull it off twice so it seems pretty random. Basically all you do is turn your sword so the blade is pointed downwards and then use both hands to shove it through their back. It's pretty sweet, too bad I can't get it to happen more often.
