how do i level up my werewolf form? : V

i remember seeing that there are different stages of being a werewolf... how to i achieve those levels?
do i just keep killing people in beast form or something?

there are no different stages just the basic werewolf state, whatever rumors you heard you were probably being Punk'D

Well, you possible mean the totems of hircine? They give your werewolf new powers.
You can get those after completing the companion questline, it is advised not to marry Aela.
I did that and got a bug where i could not do the quests anymore.
