Took me two seconds to know to press x, but then it took me twenty minutes to work out you had to jump through that hole in the tower, yeah despite the bloke shouting to jump through.

Only a matter of seconds. But it took me at least eight characters to finally decide upon one.

It took me about 20-30 minutes to make my first character, a redguard female.
Another 5 minutes to figure out what to press when done. Not an easy task, heh.

It took me a while at first to 'design' a character and I kind of settled for some default settings. Realising how to continue from character creation was a chore in itself!

My main problem was that I started Skyrim with PC in eyefinity mode and the whole character creation system was a mess - some stretching, some items off screen and colours messed up!

I initially sorted the problem out by running the game with the PC screens in extended mode - thus having a 'standard' size version of Skyrim on each individual screen.

I now use Hayden (0.91) to fix the widescreen problem - see Wide Screen Gaming Forum if interested!

My secondary problem, to be honest, was that on the day I installed then started the game up I was suffering from a head cold - that and I'm a bit thick sometimes. LOL ;) .

I am addicted to creating different styles of characters and playing it differently lol

Couple of minutes, decided on Nord before getting the game.
And besides, on PC anyways, altering your characters appearance continuously throughout the gameplay with console commands makes this pretty much a non issue

I truly feel for console players, Bethesda games simply weren't mean to be played (optimally) outside of a PC.

I took 20 min to get what I wanted in my char. another 10 looking through the book, Press A nope...Press X bingo..

my second char took an hour, I was talking on the phone. Poor girl, got her skin tone a weeeee bit to dark for a Nord. Well at least she isn't a blond, that would have looked strange.

It took me a while with each of my characters, and will take a while with each subsequent one, because I have a look in mind before I start and it takes a lot of tweaking to get there. Hell, on the second one I spent about 15 minutes just with the eyes in order to get the right combination of color and pupil shape.

Sadly only 5-10 minutes for Skyrim's character creation if I'm making a Female Nord, others might be closer to 20 minutes. If this was Oblivion it could be 30-60 minutes before I'm done.

Took me 50 hours before I realized that I could use the RB for Soul Gems.

It took me far longer to figure out how to get a character name. I was "prisoner" for my first playthru.

Oh sure I did the adjustments to my characters face, even found the six change. Tho I went back to male.
But NO I couldn't find out how to change my name.

2nd play through I just facepalmed myself.

The save menu has a delete button? Weird.

I didn't spend much time with character creation and ending it wasn't confusing. The part that threw me off for a few seconds was the layout of the face controls. Yuck.

Yeah, I had a very hard time find a build I could enjoy.

Days. I hate to admit how many times I've played through the tutorial alone, got into Helgen keep, and tested out various lighting conditions. lol

And at the end of the day, my character ended up not looking too different from the preset 1 Nord, albeit with facepaint/different hair color, different nose.

I'm on Xbox btw, so it was difficult to get all of the details in the character creation. Cheekbones don't appear defined clearly in that lighting.

I don't recall if there was a prompt or not, but going through the character creations was not issue, what took me a while to figure out was I needed to press X to unlock a shout. I was getting mad.... I had 10 dragon souls and couldn't get any new shouts. I thought it was a bug. Then I had to do a google search and it was after this I saw the menu at the bottom A Select X Unlock.... I felt so stupid.

What took me awhile to figure out was the naming. Since it had the name "prisoner" on the character generation screen, I thought I'd have to change it there before saying I was finished or I'd be stuck as prisoner forever.
