How I made around 42,000 at ONE casino

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:43 pm

This is how I made 41,000 caps at ONE casino.

I gamble with blackjack and roulette till I have about 9599 caps at the tables. Then I went to slot machines and played and reloaded till I hit the jackpot. (it actually only took 90 minutes for me to hit the 3 oranges for jackpot of 32000 if you place max bet) then I got banned. So you can go over the limit but only if you got jackpot. Plus I would have taken a smaller jackpot but was lucky with big one. I going to try the other casinos too.

PS. I also love this game it some ways it reminds more of fallout 2 then fallout 3. I would give it 100 but the bugs at launch was crazy!

Great tip!

Yeah I'm hoping for a boxing DL like how you could be a boxing Champ in F2. Or maybe even a porm star? F2 was full of good times.

Now answer the question of why would we need or want to do that?

There is also little side prizes. Win so many Blackjack games in a row max bet and you get a prize for doing so, same for the slots and roulette.

I think though if you help a casino doing side quests I have heard people could keep gambling away.

This may make sense if you were playing an MMO or something.
But you get to a point in the game when caps are kind of pointless.

Now that I've actually seen how much you can make in the casinos I'm wondering why Obsidian didn't throw in more money sinks to sop up that free flowing cash. I suddenly understand why even mid-range weapons and armor go for four digits at a time.

Most of the time was due to reloading either because I wasted 5 grand trying to hit jackpot or times I went over, but didnt hit a big jackpot (ie hit 1000 when I had 9000

I completed the side quests for the Omertas, obtaining their weapons parts and the chlorine agent (which was erroneously described as a nerve agent when it couldn't be further from a nerve agent if it tried, it is a choking agent not a nerve agent, chlorine does not impact the nerve system, it mostly impacts the lungs), and they still won't lift the ban and left me gamble.

On that note, I was annoyed to see chlorine described as a nerve agent, even more annoyed to see that they were using chlorine as a first choice for killing lots of people in a wide open area, particularly given how easy it is to whip up a blood agent such as hydrogen cyanide (a first or second year chem student with access to a few commonly available chemicals could do it). I wonder why the developers described chlorine as a nerve agent, and why they would pick chlorine over hydrogen cyanide or cyanogen.

It's an issue of annoyance for them to say that chlorine is a nerve agent when it certainly isn't and a two minute google search can confirm that. It was just one minor annoyance, along with many other annoyances, such as typos, etc.

They pale in comparison to broken quests and issues regarding companions getting lost in the wasteland, etc, but it shows a lack of attention to detail, like how Paradox botched Hearts of Iron 3 with Stalingrad 200 km west of the Volga river instead of right on the river, with the Rio Grande River going through the middle of Texas instead of forming the Texas/Mexico border.

We're talking about a game designed and developed by a professional company staffed with professionals who hold degrees and have years of experience. It isn't too much to expect some attention to detail, it certainly isn't too much to expect the absence of broken quest bugs. I could tolerate mistakes about chemistry if there were not so many broken quests and crashes throughout the game.

Little annoyances like mentioned above are what make all the difference. Programming may not be the easiest thing but with all the problems there's been easy to fix mistakes make it look as though the game was rushed to be released even though it wasnt ready.

You have a point... I have to ask myself if they sat down and spent 60-120 hours playing their own game to make sure it was playable and that quests were not broken or royally screwed up. It seems they did not...

It is the equivalent of writing an essay and not proofreading it, or perhaps writing an essay and not even looking at what you had just written to make sure it was on topic.

Perhaps they expected most people to not know nor care that chlorine is not a nerve agent. I'm not sure if any of the developers took chemistry.

Chlorine in a non-gaseous (solid) form added to water serves to kill bacteria and works as a disinfectant. However, it can be used in a gaseous form to form hydrochloric acid in the lungs. Chlorine is basically a choking agent that attacks the lungs.

One of the tasks of the Omertas was to obtain chlorine for their attack on the strip and the game erroneously declares chlorine to be a nerve agent when it is a choking agent.

I wish you could lock the reels and have multiple win lines. The slots are just boring as is - made an autohotkey script to play it automatically since it was so monotonous.

I suppose so you could buy all the enhancements from the doc outside the strip... idk, that's what I'm saving up for, but I'm also playing on hardcoe mode, so I have to buy food and water and repair my crap. I just repaired my power armor, and it was like 7000.. ugh... , but I just won 4000 in a game of caravan, so that's good i 'spose.
