How to Make an Atronarch Get Out of the Way!

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:42 am

I just leveled up Conjuration last night and I have the Storm Thrall master-level spell, which allows you to cast a permanent Storm Atronarch.
It's a great spell, but when the atronarch follows you into your house, it stands in the doorway of the room you're in and I can't get out without killing it!

Case in point: I use the downstairs room in Solitude to store my ingredients and soul gems in the two barrels. Lydia will typically stand in the doorway, but if I back up a few feet she'll enter the room and I can then get by her. Not so with a Storm/Frost Atronarch! They just stand in the doorway and don't budge. I've tried walking/running into them, and nothing. No dialog options either (not that an atronarch would speak to you anyway!).

It seems really absurd to Incinerate my permanent Atronarchs just so I can exit a room. Sure, I can recast the spell later, but that seems crazy to me.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? I shouldn't need to use them as target practice.

I use Expel Daedra. Dual cast if they are higher level.

As I mentioned in my post, I don't conjure them in the house. They follow you back from the field.

I use those spells in battles. When I am about to enter a civilized area I kill them. If I am over-encumbered, I load up a dead body with some heavy things and use Dead Trall. I go into a store, kill them, and sell the stuff. That is what those spells should be used for. They are slaves. To be used when you want them and have them gone when you don't.

Got it, and thanks for the tip on Dead Thrall! I'm always collecting more than my follower and I can carry.

After I got Twin Souls, I ditched my Follower. A married one and made my other Followers Blades. Having a Vampire Mistwalker at all times is really fun. Or having a Thalmor Escort... The unlimited carry weight it an added bonus :)
