How many hours do you put into each character?

I have 4 so far. Bosmer archer/thief, Redguard blacksmith/assassin, Khajiiti wizard and Breton (Forsworn) lightly armored conjurer. I also had a Dunmer battlemage, but I abandoned that playthrough.

I have one. I put all two hundred hours of my Skyrim time into him.

I don't even have any good reason now to start a new character besides the fact that I haven't done the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood questlines, since I've already cleared all the forts/caves/ruins in the game as my first character.

I'm on my 4th. Around level 40 I get bored with them. I've only finished the MQ with one.

If we're counting the "failed" characters where I wasn't happy with the way I'd built them up at level 20; I'm at... 15 characters.

If we're just counting the long-running characters that I love to death; 3 characters. I've retired a Dunmer Mage, and now I'm working up a Dunmer Assassin, and a Khajiit Warrior (see sig for builds).

I also very much agree with this.

2 of the three character I mentioned above have been stomping across Tamriel since Daggerfall. The concepts for both of these characters (my Dark Elf and my Khajiit {Cat-man})have been around for 20+ years as my standing characters from my D&D days.

They are my immortal Avatars.

BTW, Phon; what's the site you use for Niamh's blog. I'm thinking that Nocturne and Sher Khan are needing to keep a Journal of their exploits. :D

3.

First is Ulric Bale-Eye, a lvl 40 vanilla male Nord warrior, heavy armour, 2 hander, blonde hair blue eyes.
He's my Dragonborn and is doing mq and civil war.

Second is Megaine, lvl 28 female Imperial vampire thief/assassin doing TG and DB and all sorts of unsavory daedric liasons.
She's for doing all the stuff the other two are too "pure" too touch.

Third is Alewyn, lvl 10 male Breton mage, he's a textbook college mage doing all the magic related stuff the other two ignore.

Basically I have the old skool warrior, wizard, rogue thing going on.

I plan to create a fourth to do the Companions (my warrior is NOT the type to become a werewolf) and some other stuff.
He/she will be my "Vagabond" spellsword type.

I really think if you are the kind of player who tries to only do quests in line with a characters personality you can end up with quite a few different characters if you want to cover all the content the game has to offer.

It's cool, it keeps the game fresh for me and because there is so little overlap in what they're doing, I can imagine all these characters existing in the same world at the same time.
It gives the usual self created narrative you build in TES games even wider scope imo.

I'm on my fourth.

1. Mahnogard - Female Redguard - this was the "new to elder scrolls, have to do everything" character with no real identity - 200+ hours
2. Forsythia - Female Imperial - Heavy armor, one-handed with some light magic - 150 hours
3. Malicia - Female Altmer - Mage - about 50 hours
4. Shadow Winterstorm - Female Nord - One-handed fighter + stealth archer, light armor, no magic except some staves - currently at 56 hours, at around level 32 with a long way to go yet. Taking my time on the questlines with her. Finished Civil War, but haven't gone after the Horn or joined the TG or Companions, but did wipe out the DB.

Well I have roughly 450hr total and I spent most of it as a character called Hunter.

3. As stated above, one of my character and the first one created in Skyrim is one I've had for many, many years and through many different types of fantasy games. He's a thief/assassin and he's always looking for a quick payday as long as the risk isn't too high.

Of the other two, one is a Nord heavy warrior that has completed the MQ and is now just prancing around like he owns the joint. The last one created and the one that consumes the majority of my time since her creation is a female dark elf mage. Never played anything like her before and I'm enjoying it.

Just the 3. I'll play the one that best suits my mood at the time.

Well, I have 25 screenshot folders with character pics in them so at least 25 characters. I know that only about 4 did the MQ, but several others just retired after doing a few factions and never had an intent on doing the MQ. I'd say about half of them are just incomplete, I started a role-play and just didn't like it, or the skills I was trying to use didn't work out, etc.

I usually have 1 at a time.
I had 2 when I did the hideous thieves guild trophies. One was a quaratined kad'jitt female, for the trophies only. The other was my real character, a female orc 2 handed warrior and conjorer.
Could'nt stand the kad'jitt and the entire game, and wanted to play for fun so made the orc.

Overall, not sure, had about 5 proper characters. All diferent.

Only 2 myself.

My jack of all trades Breton and another Mage Breton. Played too many hours with both those characters. I don't really have any failed characters or random characters because I've had the idea of who my characters were long before Skyrim came out. Since the reveal I had time to think of a lot of ideas.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HALJH9jilnI&feature=related Get this skill, and you will never be sorry. Just be sure to enchant the [censored] out of your gear to get 0% magicka cost. The skill is so much fun to use, even my warrior characters get it because bows svck.

As for the OQ: I'm on my 6th, I think. Hard to keep track because I usually delete those I get tired of.

I've created (and played for a bit) around 200 since release. I have only a couple that got to the 50s; and right now, only 6 viable toons. The rest I've deleted over time. I usually have a couple in the late 30s, and the rest are lower levels. I actually like the lower levels best - as more fun for me. And most of the toons I play a lot are jacks-of-all-trades - generally warrior base with offhand destruction magic, a bit of alchemy and a lot of enchanting.
