This is my 2nd mod though and the newest includes quest making.

The learning curve is quite high for a 54 year old oaf like me

I went to "Library" in Steam, switched the display results to "Tools", selected the Creation Kit from the list, and added to "Favorites". Switching the display results to "Favorites" will now show the CK along with the hours.

Wow I thought I had a lot at 524.

Do you guys just like leave it on with your computers on 24/7 or something. >.> (Because I pull like 6-10 hours a day. I don't see how you could do much more.)

Since I am disabled I mess around with CK and my mod approx 18hrs a day.

Not a lot to show for it though. Especially making quests.

i leave mine running sometimes. out of my 1500+ i do think that at least 800-900 are actual work hours (either working on my mods or experimenting). i try to put in about 8 hours a day (every last second of my free time basically) and between 18-20 hours a day on weekends (i have actually on a few occassions done a "Le Mans" session - working 24 hours straight lol)

I think I really need to focus up and do that. I'd finish my project in like a month... Well, and like 30% of the work isn't in the CK.

Unfortunately, however, I suffer a severe addiction to video games. The CK being on a computer loaded with them doesn't help... Another reason that I'll be so much happier when I finally get that job with BGS. (Work environment, no games to destract me)

i know how it is. i fell soooooo far behind on my games. i have a list that keeps growing of games that i need to get into. i still havent even played ME3 yet, even though the entire story has already been spoiled for me hahahaa

but for me personally, i am trying to build up a portfolio to present to game companies with hopes of getting some kind of work. and mods are a great way to showcase your talent. so i feel the pressure of time, and i am willing to forego meals and sleep if it means getting my portfolio out the door quicker

I can't find hours played at all. Is it because I keep steam in offline mode all the time?

Open the steam client window and click 'Community'. It should go to your profile, and along the right side it will list many things, one of them being gameplay stats. It should say how long you've used the CK.

I would also assume that it continues to keep track, even if you're in offline mode. Then again since you're technically not logged in, it may not.

Oh. My computer asks me when it wants to update Steam. It shows me the patch notes and I can say 'Restart Steam' to download and install, or I can say 'Cancel' to continue on my way. >.>

While working on my projects I find half the time is spent on the in game loading screens :-)
Write script
1. Create magic effect
2. Attach script to magic effect
3. Create spell
4. Run Skyrim (load screen)
5. Load mod free save game (load screen)
6. Use console commands to add new spell
7. Try new spell, epic fail
8. Quit Skyrim (load screen)
9. Re-write script
Repeat 4 - 9
:-D

Only 139.2 hours :o

Guess it's partially because so far I've been doing pretty much only scripted/gameplay mods, that kind of modding is much more about just scripting something quickly and checking in game if it works, whereas things like making quests/dungeons/environments probably results in a LOT more work in the creation kit (I have never even looked in the render window in those 140 hours of modding...) and a bit less switching between CK and game to test :P

Also, barely done any modding in the past 1-2 months due to uni, league of legends and diablo 3...
