If only our lovely little local coffee shops had cups this size. I avoid Starbucks like the plague- not some sort of statement on anything, I just personally really hate the coffee- but I'd love it if some of the little locally owned coffee shops had this size!

I sip coffee all day, meh.
I dislike Starbucks though, except for the pumpkin spice latte.

Meh, American coffee is terrible, Cuban is the way to go.

Besides, you're wrong OP, the stomach is like a balloon, the average size listed is the size of an empty stomach.

If this was Dunkin' Donuts I would be calling my dad to let him know the good news, haha. He always gets the largest cup of coffee they have.

(Dunkin' Donuts in New Jersey is as widespread as Starbucks is everywhere else, so while he's not really close to any Starbucks, he's really close to a handful of Dunkin' Donuts.)

Now you're talking! There is a great cuban bakery in LA by the name of Porto's - their cafe cubano will get you hopped up like a frog on a hot skillet!

Are you refering to the coffee or the actual cups fitting inside someone's stomach?

I drink 64 ounce Double Gulp sodas from 7-Eleven in around an hour, which is around 1800-2000ml.

that looks dangerous. another reason why I'll never go to Starbucks(except to stand outside and use their wi-fi, although even then I'm not going in there)

Why someone would drink nearly a liter of coffee in the first place is beyond me.

"Maximum capacity: 2,000 -- 4,000ml"?

Because coffee is quite simply wonderful. The more, the better.

The person who came up with the diagram is wrong, not the OP. OP is merely relaying the information.

Besides, you will see that it also says that the maximum capacity that a stomach can take is 2,000 - 4,000mL, more than sufficient to take a Trenta cup of coffee.

Thankfully, the stomach expands. Uncomfortably so sometimes. I won't touch Starbucks myself. I'll drink the occasional cuppa joe, but it will be from a diner, or brewed at home.

I can't stand any specialty coffee spots. Starbucks, Human Bean, Dutch Bros etc. They all taste like they either use burnt coffee beans, or the coffee has been sitting on a burner for days. Nasty stuff. The only "coffee" drink I like outside of home, is a Cappucino Blast from Baskin Robbins. They are expensive and use ice cream, so they are thick and heavy, (and replace a meal for me) so they are only gotten rarely as a treat. I don't see how people can drink all of those expensive burnt-tasting coffees, and more than that, as often as they do... :yuck:

Have you tried any non-chain cafés? Good caffès can be hard to find, but are far superior to the likes of Starbucks.

You might like to start ordering http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affogato; they're on the thicker/sweeter/creamier end of things, and you probably shouldn't bother with any place that doesn't know how to make them :).
