It surprised me how many of my friends/roommates have beaten the main quest yet did not know about the Blades equipment. A full set of Blades armor, shield, and a unique dragon killing sword are all stashed in a side-room of the Sky Haven Temple opposite the Dragonwall. Up until the point where the Paarthurnax ultimatum is given, the gear is free to pick up. After that (if you haven't killed him) it's marked red and you have to steal it.

It's my favorite armor set so far.

I found the sword. I missed the armor though. I never spotted it. I'll have to go back and look.

Found it but was disappointed by the armor's stats. Still use Dragonbane at lvl 58 though...lvl100 smith and fully perked 1handed it does 103damage. I picked it up at lvl 36

found it on my second playthrough - couldnt believe i'd missed it the first time. the sword is pretty good.

I believe there's also a weapon rack with some plain katanas, if you want to do some enchanting. Delphine has a katana hanging in her secret room at the inn as well.

The armor and the sword are in a chest. And here's about six kitanas hanging on a weapon's rack if you want to make stronger enchantments.

I just today got to the Sky Temple on my second playthrough and was looking forward to grabbing the Blade's armor. But then I finally gained the skill for crafting glass armour which I have never used before, so I'll be playing with that for the time being.

i haven't tried it yet, but can you disenchant Dragonbane? I was 54 when I found it and my smithed/enchanted deadric sword was already doing 200+ damage, so I hung it up in Vlindrel Hall. I'm guessing that with disenchanting it, that would allow axe/hammer users to get the benefits of it.

The blades armor was very cool, but I found it too late. Looks like it fits in between Dwarven and Orcish though, so it's not a bad low level set of armor. That's something I hope I can find a mod to address. Giving some of the other armor sets the base stats of deadric or ebony, so at later levels I can activate the mod, and pick my favorite armor based on looks instead of having to use deadric which is one of my LEAST favorite armor sets in the game. Right up there with falmer...
