How to marry Aela ?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:34 am

I just completed the main questline I guess. Was told I am the new Harbinger. But.. nobody seems to care I guess. Was a very crappy questline I might add.

Anyways I got the Mara Amulet and there's no option to marry her. Is this because this toon is a female Nord?

Why does that matter? I already have the Amulet of Mara.

You have to do more quests for her. She makes you retrieve Three Artifacts. You'll recieve this if you keep doing her quests. Once you've retrieve all the artifacts and placed them on the alter in the secret cave, you should be able to marry her after that. Also you have to be wearing the Amulet at the time, when you speak to her.

You also have to talk to the priest about marrage first. Just having the Amulet will not trigger marrage options.

Well, you joined like a month ago and are now the leader. You need to do personal quests (better hope you kept those witches heads) for people to start saying you're their dear friend.

She's going back "home" to that Nord tomb, Ysomething. She wasn't offering any quests to me.

I kind of regretted making such a strong independent warrior woman a gooey "yes dear" wife that cooks whenever i demand it , and gives me money like I'm a pimp or something. But that's my personal views it just felt like I ended her real life and I should have picked one of the women that were just kinda like that already.

Just wait, then talk to her when she is back at Jovskr. You should either get the comment about Amulet of Mara or more side quests after that.

Amulet of Mara does nothing unless you talk to the priest in the Temple of Mara in Riften. Unless you already married, you cannot remarry.

There's some Dunmer woman there trying to get me to spread love throughout Skyrim. Then some dorky Nord dude who doesn't know jack. Not sure where the 3rd priest is, I checked all the rooms and he's just not there.

I just want Aela's armor is all.

You should be able to craft it at the Skyforge, if you're already Harbinger. I think it's under Draugr or something (been a while since I crafted anything on my Companion toon).

The armor is under Daedra. Not sure if this is intended or a bug. So you virtually need Daedric smithing Perk for an Iron/Steel Armor.

I like to imagine that Aela's food is horrible since she prefers her steaks VERY rare.

Oh and her shop sells nothing but weapons and torture devices.

:)

Then again, I intend to take her on adventures still.

It's an MMO thing. I think it comes from WoW, where everybody looks like a cartoon (this is one reason I could never play WoW, it looks too Disney for my taste).

I just wasted a perk unlocking Daedric Smithing with the impression Draugr would be under it.

I think Draugr actually counts as "Advanced Armor" maybe? No idea, I just know that after you become Harbinger, Eorlund Gray-Mane will say something like the Skyforge feels more alive since Kodlak was cremated in it, and after that you can craft the Draugr armor and Nord Hero weapons.

for ancient nord armor to be possible youmust have completed the quest to save Kodlak's soul and become the Harbinger.

and the orland grey-mans says that the skyforge has become younger.

then you can find Draugr and Daedric Armors possible.

to marry Aela you have to have spoken to the mara priest in the hood about marriage.

then let him explain how marriage works in skyrim.

once you become Harbinger you wear the amulet of mara and speak to Aela.

if the topics include "interested in me, are you" you are golden.

mozeltov on your nuptules.

This.

Not this.

I had already decided on her from the get-go, so I had spoken to Malamar in Riften about marraige. As soon as Kodlak Whitemane was released and that quest line ended, I put the amulet on and asked her then and there in the dungeon. That started the quest to speak again to Malamar to set up the wedding.

However, I wanted Aela to follow me, so I asked her. She pointed out that I already had someone: Lydia. So I told "she who is sworn to carry my burdens" to take a hike. Then I addressed myself to Aela once more and she blew a gasket! Luckily there was a dialog option, "It was just a mistake. Can't we start over?" that patched things up. I didn't even try to ask her to follow me. Instead, she took it upon herself to do so.

Also, the issue of choosing a home wasn't available, even after marriage. I had to dismiss her to get it to come up. As for the Totem quests, they are permanently unavailable to me. She just wants me to exterminate beasts made of "sterner stuff."

This should only happen if you choose to cure yourself before you finish the Totem Quest.

I was never offered a totem quest. Still carrying a witch's head, but haven't gone through with the cure. Not sure I'll bother,
