not sure what you're asking, but i play a mage and wear a robe however i do use some light armor, first of all you can enchant all your gear, you can make your own gear, you can upgrade gear thats already made, i always take some light armor perks, i pick the lord stone it will give you 50 armor and 25% magic resistance...i'm pretty well armored and i still wear a robe..i have armored bracers, boots, helmet and so you can get armor protection without wearing heavy armor.
