So how much ability to customize do you really have?

Hey everyone

I haven't seen any topics about this, so I just wanted to ask a question about Hearthfire.

How much ability to customize do you really in Hearthfire?

Is it simply the ability to decide what wings you have and which weapons/armor are on the plaques/mannequins, what books are on the shelves, and what plants are you growing, etc?

I ask this because I looked up some of the info on Hearthfire on the uesp, and it doesn't seem like you have that much freedom. It looks like you have the ability to place an item somewhere... or not, and leaving an empty space in your home. It doesn't seem like you can actively choose where to place the items. Is this impression correct, or is there a lot of stuff I'm missing?

Yeah I noticed that as well... I wish we could have whatever room wherever we wanted it. Also, I wish we could deconstruct and reconstruct rooms, so that if a room isn't working out like we thought it would, we can change it. Example: I thought you HAD to have a bedroom wing to have kids, without it you couldn't adopt them. I later found out that I could, even if you didn't have the bedroom wing complete. Now the bedroom wing is just sitting there and doing nothing, whereas I could have put an Enchanter's Tower there instead. Kinda stinks, you know?

Pretty much this. Everything else like beds, chests, shelves etc. the game automatically places.

Yeah, was pretty let down that everything already had it's assigned place, you just essentially buy the thing or not. Buy a weapon rack or the wall is empty, buy a barrel or the corner is empty. svcks that there's no decision other than what wing you want on which house.

Not to mention that your kids are freaking annoying as well. Every time I return home one of the two brats runs up and a forced dialogue happens, asking for allowance, if you brought them something, play a game with them, or they have something for you. Annoying as hell, and I'd have killed them off already if it was allowed.

It's a 5 dollar add-on. Do most of us wish it were more and see the huge potential? Yes. Hopefully Bethesda has someone looking at all of this and have something in the works to expand it. It would however, and y'all know it's true, cost much more. I myself would be more than happy to pay more for a greatly expanded Hearthfire, and I think most everybody else that has it would too. No game developer is going to please everyone all the time though, so just have fun with it. :)

I can't until Bethesda figures out how to make DLC work on the PS3.

I have seen some really cool Steam mods!! Makes me kinda jealous! lol It would be my luck though, that any mod I tried to use would 'bug' my whole game up. But since I am using a 360, it's a moot point.

What can I say, besides sorry! :(
