How much staff can live in your house?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:38 am

I know for one the steward. Many said Faendal but I have forgotten how he looks like. If he isn't the Regard from through trailer than I guess you can get another one as well.
But aside from the Steward, can for example a house Carl live in your house, keeping the function as house Carl?
How about other staff?

Forgotten to add to this: As I've read you can build three houses out of nine(?) ground pieces I would assume you could hire out of three stewards as well, unless you have to point one house as being 'active' or something and move your whole gang over when you decide to move.

I just invited my house carl into my home as a steward so I think that rules out the house carl job. When you bring a follower near your new home they ask if you would like them to maintain the house as a steward. Plus I've hired a bard to live at home too, if he gets too annoying you have the option to get rid of him. And I'm just about to see what happens when I bring another follower but I can't remember where most of mine are.

I'm just wondering what the maximum for one house is. Figure steward, bard, housecarl, spouse, and two kids. Did I miss anyone?

  • Steward (One of your followers)
  • Housecarl (Follower assigned to you when you become thane, will guard the grounds if dismissed. Do not make housecarl the Steward or you will loose this helpful guard option)
  • Bard (Buy from Steward)
  • Dog x 1 (Meeko, Husky or Deathhound) Adopted child will ask to keep them upon arriving.
  • 1 Misc pet (i.e mud crab, fox, rabbit) Your adopted child brings home.
  • Adopted Children x2
  • Your Spouse (Handy as will buy anything, but also products from Greenhouse, Garden, Bee Hive, Mill or Fish Hatchery!)

I have not tested the trolls, nor have I heard anyone else doing so. I have a funny feeling the trolls won't work though :P too big!

In my Lakeview Manor home there's me, my wife Mjoll, we adopted 2 kids. I have Lydia as the steward and i also have Rayya as the housecarl. Had Aerin not gotten himself killed by vampires and if i hadn't dismissed my bard, that would be a total of 8 but as it stands there are 6 of us, plus any additional follower i currently have with me.

I have tried the armoured trolls but i only got one as far as Fort Amol before he/she decided to return to Fort Dawnguard, so I doubt they are suitable.

Argh, I assigned the houscarl for a steward, didn't know he will stay guarding if I choose some one else for steward. :(

Can we possibly make enough beds for everyone? You can get 4 single beds and 2 double beds and 1 coffin max, I think, unless you left your entry hall as a cottage, in which case you have a third (ill-placed) double bed. Does everyone eventually find a place to sleep? There's potentially 10 beds in the house, but I've never seen anyone use the double beds.

I have a Steward, my Wife, Housecarl, Bard, and a kid (though two kids are allowed by the DLC). Including myself any any pet that the children bring home, that's 8 individuals.

Me too. Crap! Can you "fire" the steward and have her revert to being a housecarl? LOL!
