How to not get detected while sneak attack?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:34 pm

What I meant was, it's impossible to sneak properly on the PC using a keyboard and mouse.

Sneaking on the PS3 is obviously just as effective as sneaking on the xbox.

Really? I've never had any problem sneaking with a mouse and keyboard.

never had any problem there either, can you please elaborate on why would it make a diference?

Until you get the Sneak Run Perk, moving too fast can alert the enemies. Using an Joystick, you can vary your movement speed from a crawl up to a run in infinite steps. On the PC, we have two speeds, Walk and Run or Crouch Walk and Duck Run.

However, one can be quite effective at Sneak with the Keyboard and Mouse.

You can't control how fast you walk with the keyboard.

Nope, I tried that. Tapping the w key makes just as much noise as holding it in. Which doesn't really make any sense tbh

Like CCNA said;

You might have to fiddle with Keyboard Repeat Rate to get this to work right. Also, some gaming keyboards (or some touch typist keyboards) have a different repeat set up on their keys

Ok I didn't read any of the thread, so if its already stated, sorry.

Daggers are slightly more silent than swords.
Power attacks are extremely loud.
You need to do a regular attack, with a dagger probably, to almost always be undetected.

Also, to walk silently on PC, you have to walk short lengths at a time, let the eye display HIDDEN, then continue like that.

As for bows, the only way to do that is to be very far away, but still within arrow length, shoot one arrow, wait for them to stop searching, then shooting another.

This is just AFAIK though.
