How often can I do 'kill the bandit leader" quests?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:51 am

I just did the one from proventus or whatever his name is. Then I grabbed one from the innkeeper in Whiterun.

I went back to both and they have no new quests. I love slaying bandits.

Does it take a few days to get the quests again, or is it only 2 bandit leader kills per city?

They're radiant quests so you probably will have to wait a few days. Just like how for cities besides Whiterun, you don't always automatically get the quest to become thane from the jarl or steward. I've helped lots of people in the Rift, but I have yet to have the thane radiant quest to appear.

I think the bandits have to respawn, I'm not sure how long it takes for that to happen though.

So when I became Thane it wasn`t scripted? That`s really cool to know. I really like it when things are randomised. It means each new game is different and increases longevity.

That might also be a bug. I've helped enough people in Riften, and purchased a house, and have an entry in my quest log telling me to talk to the Jarl, but I don't get any Thaney dialog options when I do.

talk to the inn keepers instead of the Jarl's. You can get one pretty often.

You are just not Thane material... they have standards... JK. lol.

You become a Thane after a certain event. I forget what it is... Though, there is little "glory" in it. It is not like they throw a parade, or even send you a holiday card, or give you a fruit-basket... It is like, Oh, you are are now my thane, let me tell the guards, so you don't get treated like the normal criminal scum.

Have you purchased any furniture for your house? If so that is why.

Yeah, pretty sure I bought all the upgrades when I bought the house. I'm on PC, wonder if there are any console commands to fix it (without breaking other stuff.)

You can do them as many time as you want. Plenty of bandits to go around.

Easy, the same way the bards college quests are broken leaving you with undroppable quest items, three of them in your inventory. The scripting is broken. You find TON's of these in skyrim. I've seen atleast 3-5 quest in my playthorughts so far that have broken quests if you don't do them "Right".
