How do I pick up the main storyline?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 6:26 pm

I am playing Skyrim for some 120 hours, did a lot of things everywhere. Obtained 5 priests masks now, cleared caves and things spreaded all over Skyrim, am level 39 now, talked to heaps of NPC's, defeated many dragons and know many shouts now.

But what I miss is big things happening.:( It's like I am getting stuck not knowing what to do. There is a war going on in Skyrim, but apart from visiting the jarls and stormcloaks, nothing is happening there.....

Is there a way to catch up on/follow the big storyline events?

I have the feeling that I need to do some little things at some places to make things progress again?

Help please.:) As I like the game a lot, it's very addicting.

Go and have a chat with the Jarl of Whiterun, or talk with the store owner in Riverwood.

Do the quest "Before the Storm". That should get you in the right direction.

Or you could talk to Ulfric (in the Palace of Kings in Windhelm) or General Tullius (in Castle Dour in Solitude) and pick a side in the civil war.

If you're asking how to progress in the main quest then open your jounal, mark on your map and follow the arrow...if you're asking about a lack of big events thats because the game doesnt have many. Brace yourself, the last main quest is a disappointment if you're expecting "big things"

Yes, been on High Rothar, if that's the place you meant. Only can't get through that whirlwind in the garden yet. But I will find out on that one later, I hope.:D

If you mean the portal up the stairs, you're not supposed to get through until later in the main questline. Then it will all become clear to you ;)

Seriously. I'm so sick of Farengar telling me to be on my way to Bleak Falls Barrow.

You can either complete the main story then do/finish the civil war or vice versa, but doing the first one is a lot more interesting.
