How do I survive Giants [ The annoying "funny" bug ]

Post » Tue Jul 03, 2012 12:43 pm

Hello Everybody !

I heard there's some way to survive the space attacks that Giants give you , something with load and save..
Personally I really hate this bug and I don't find it funny at all.

Well the simplest way to avoid it is to make sure the giant doesn't actually kill you.

There are these 'critical' hits which you are supposed to survive but instead they are sending you to the skies.

You're dead, you have to reload anyway, it's a powerful attack, there is even AoE damage from it. Just run under his arm behind him, spin round and attack.

If you're getting launched into the stratosphere by giants, you need to get more HP.

Once you have enough HP, you can no longer be immediately launched by their attack, as you can survive more than one hit.

1) Do not expect giants to roll with your silly concept of honourable combat.
2) Send an arrow into their knee, we need moar giant guardsmen to deal with those dragons.
3) Try aiming for water or roll your body into nearby bushes. Asking a dragon for a lift also works.

It's not a bug. The Giant's power attack is a unique knockback spell. It is working as intended.

Shield bash, swing, swing, shield bash again, rinse, repeat. Have several stamina potions. Easiest way to take out giants.

Easiest way is actually to spawn ice spells at them which makes them move slower than a snail, then just pick them off with arrows and continue spawning ice spells. Although you should have no trouble killing them in melee combat after around level 8 anyway.

Or just leave them the hell alone. They aren't hurting you or anyone else. Get attacked by a dragon out on the plain and one might even come to your rescue.

Only Giant(s) that came to "help" when I was being attacked by a Dragon treated me as an enemy as well, and sent me skyward. Since then I don't treat them with the respect I used to.

Wow! Can I get your autograph??

Giants are tricky, and even with lots of HP and good armor they can kill you with a couple of hits, so the key is really to NOT get hit. If you're used to tanking foes, you might want to rethink your strategy as suggested in this thread. Do the old runaround and hit them in the achilles!

No way to take a giant on hand to hand until you're level 20. Dodging is dicey; they are awfully strong.

If you don't want to get an express ticket to the twin moons, just avoid them. Even hitting them from a distance is no guarantee - they're resilient, and move surprisingly fast.

Well , they are tough.
Anyway , if I am strong and have much HP does it reduces the possibility to fly ?

This. One poor giant rushed to help after a dragon appeared in the tundra. First time I've ever seen a giant getting utterly kicked. I avenged him later, of course.
