How to take off wife's clothes?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 5:04 am

My pickpocketing is only at like 22, so is there any way I can take off my wife's clothes? Don't care to change them, just take them off, her miner outfit is so ugly.

You need 100 pickpocketing and the "Perfect Touch" perk. Besides that, there is no other way to take your wife's clothes off, besides killing her and looting her body of course

Just take em off... quick before she gets home. Why are you wearing her outfit if you think it is ugly.

If you want to take your wife's clothes off, I suggest you do one of a few options:

(1) Dinner at a nice restaurant, possibly with dancing.
(2) A nice piece of jewelry can work wonders.
(3) Go visit a friend that has a cute newborn baby.

Do all three of these in the same evening and the clothes will be off before you can even ask.

If you are on PC, you can use the console to force her to equip different clothes. However, it will revert every time you leave the zone. Even if you remove the miner's outfit, it will respawn.

If you're on a console, you're kind of out of luck. NPCs stick with their default outfits unless they're followers and you give them something better. If you're on PC, it's doable:
  • open the console
  • select the NPC
  • type "unequipall" (no quotes) if you want them to simply take something off; it remains in their inventory, though
The NPC will unequip everything (doesn't consistently work on Uthgerd and a couple of others) and leave it unequipped until the cell reloads. Once the stuff is unequipped, you can pickpocket it (or use the console to remove it permanently), but reverse-pickpocketing new stuff will not cause them to equip the new clothing. To do that, you have to use the console to force them to equip something temporarily, but they'll remove it when the cell reloads, so you're constantly having to fiddle with that. The NPC Barbie idea was not terribly well implemented.

Using "Perfect Touch", as has been mentioned, is the key if you're playing on a console. The problem is, every time you load into a zone with that character, their default outfit will reappear. The workaround is to pickpocket most of their default outfit, not all of it. Example: leave their default boots or gloves/gauntlets. Just having one piece of their default outfit in their inventory seems to be enough to keep the full outfit from respawning.

Yes I married Sylgia, so is it confirmed that if I get 100 pickpocket, I can remove her pickaxe and all her clothes but boots?

I can only confirm that this did work for me when I tried to upgrade my follower's wizard robes when I played on the 360. Just save before attempting it. *shrug*

Yes 100 skill and the top perk. The down side is that they will not wear anything else. Clothing, that is. They will still don a dagger. Raising piclpocket is done fastest by reverse picpocketing gold from you to her. or any NPC. Save after each success. Start out with about 200 gold and work your way up to 500+.

Pickpocketing the clothes that somebody is wearing does take skill. I havent done much pickpocketing so far, and not really sure if I'm going to do the Thieve's Guild or not. I'm a dual wielding Heavy Armor type. Sure, sure, my Archery and Sneak are my third and fourth highest skills, but still, thats more of a tactical choice.
And theres a browser based game I play where if you want to get into the Thieves Guild, you have to steal *your own pants*, and not get caught doing it. If you try doing it without any pants on, you'll just get confused as to whether or not you've already done it, since you arent supposed to notice it happening.

As someone that plays pickpockets and steals all armour but boots from guards for a laugh.
Easiest way is to pickpocket gems and pricey goods.

The skill is one of the fastest leveling skills there is.
At the start a decent jewelry piece worth 100+ will level you up by a bunch.
Gems are easier and same effect.
Coins are more difficult, always has been in Beth games, the coin / cap chance is ridiculous if more than a few hundred even at top skill levels.

Also note if you focus on pickpocket you can spam level.
Pickpocket till leveled up, take PP perk.
Head to trainer, raise weapon, magic, armour skill by one pickpocket gold, raise by one pick pocket gold.
When you hit the training cap go out and pickpocket again till fresh level up.. repeat.
