How tuff is Miraak on Master difficulty?

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:49 am

I only encountered him on normal. He was already a tuff bastard and made my lvl 70 character sweat. So anyone already fought against him on master?

Tell me how it was pls

It was a tad ridiculous at first. He was stuck in his ethereal form, and kept attacking me, apparently I was damaging him too quickly. So after about 9 resets, it was a piece of cake.

I though he was Absolutely Solid.

I didn't use any over powered gear, and found him pretty difficult. Although, he actually gave me a reason to use all my useless Potions that keep stacking up.

I did it on expert, SpellBreaker was pretty usefull for when he pulled out that duel staff combo, helps if you use a summon to lure him off you for a while too.

he was really hard actually, the fact he could basically spam shouts whilst i had to wait, made him actually feel like he had perfected being dragonborn, on a side note, use storm call for a truly epic experience!

Damn, I didn't think of that.
I used the 'Call Of Valor' Shout to get some attention off me.

And did anyone notice the "Ancestor Dragonborns'". They helped me battle Miraak, and also took more attention off me.

played him on master and the whole questline on master but i like to keep serana with me at all times and use my summon dremora lord spell to keep the attention of me while i snipe him with a bound arrows. he was pretty hard considering all the other stuff i fought through the questline. got eaten by the blue dragon for being to close to it before he absorbed its soul but other than that it was injoyable. i was level 48 btw.

I read elsewhere that Miraak killsteals dragon souls. Is this true? If so, is it limited to just Solstheim or is it in the main province too?

If so... I know what I'm going to be muzzling before I even start playing once it hits PC... First vampire masters being dropped in the middle of town where they can slaughter highly perishable NPCs, now this.

Challenge the player, gamesas. Don't irritate them.

He only did it to me once during the questline, so you shouldn't have to worry:)

I read on TVTropes that he only killsteals on Solstheim too. So maybe they did anticipate how annoying it would be this time (unlike aggro'd vamp bosses in town) and corralled that behavior.

He teleports to you somehow just before you start absorbing the soul, and he says he's stronger than you or something, and it comes up at the top of the screen, something like "Miraak has absorbed the Dragon Soul".

It's only happened to me once, but I found it rather hillaious.

I believe you receive all the dragon souls once you defeat him. So think of it as a saveings account.

I knew going in that he'd be weak, even on master difficulty. I just transformed into a VL and took him down. His dragons made for excellent health packs, as well. In the end, those stupid acid puddles did more damage than my noobish opponent.

Then again, my vampire lord also has 800 health and 1000 magicka, so even my "weak" self is kind of OP.

I fought Miraak on master and I don't think he was kidding when he said he could have killed Alduin. It was the best boss fight in the game hands down. Not only was it tough but it was fun and different. I almost want to reload just to fight him again, it was that epic.

I play on "Expert" difficulty and MAN he was hard. I defeated him twice while on my dragon, let the dragon's souls get ripped out, then my dragon's then I did summon upon summon with "Bound Bow" and Bound Bow is kind of ridiculously overpowered. The fight took a long time while at lvl 30 and lvl 85 conjuration. At lvl 20 I couldn't make a dent in his health without him burning me to death with fire breath. I resorted to shouts, and summons, in my final battle. It was a fun and challenging battle. :)

I played against Harkon at level 24 and Miraak on at level 28. Both on Master difficulty.

Harkon was far, far harder. Miraak I actually found quite easy, as long as I stuck to my spell, cover, spell, cover tactic, and avoided his shouts, it was just a matter of patience and slowly grinding down his health (because I only had Lightning Bolt which didn't do great amounts of damage). I assume Miraak levels with you, would hate to face him above level 70. But regardless, Harkon was far more difficult, his health regenerates so quickly, he summons gargoyles constantly, and he uses his bat mist whenever I get a chance to attack.

That fact that he was using the shouts so well, no cooldown or anything and combining em made me truly jealous I want a temp no cooldown shout buff now!
