How (which order) to proceed with quests ?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:57 am

I have conciously have not made the main story quests until now , so as to prolong my playing time. and sometimes when you kill some NPC early in the game , it may ruin your future quest line etc...

My character reached to level 60.

I mainly concentrated on side quests. I have concluded following quest lines:
The College of Winterhold

The Companions

Bards College

and many many other Miscellaneous quests

can you give me ideas to how to proceed with the quests?

for example to complete the main quest first then join thieves guild, dark brotherhood etc... ? or just opposite ?
To join sides in the civil war first (join the imperials or stormcloacks), then main quest ?

The factions don't really interact with each other, and there's no consequences either way. :)
There are some side quests with different branches - and some of those CAN fail! o_o'

The only factions that have any interaction at all are the Dark Brotherhood, & the Thieves Guild, & even then it's very minimal. A few lines of dialogue.

I like to go main quest than civil war instead of negotiations and afterwards finsihing the main quest. This makes the main quest feel larger to me. As for thieves guild and dark brotherhood I like to finish the thieves guild first. If you do it backwards some refrences and such seem off,'

Indeed, as I've been discovering recently. :swear:

I've not hit level 50 yet, and I'm seriously thinking of restarting my game. I don't recall the quest I was on last night, but it asked me to meet someone. I get there, the arrow is present, but the person never shows. I even let the game cycle through 24 hours just in case there was a specific time.

I got frustrated, so I headed to the internet and it said if the character should die before you do the quest, the quest can never be completed (it was after the Markarth prison break-out).

Sure enough... character is dead. Lying right there on the steps from the blacksmith.

Now, I've quest log that'll never resolve, remaining open indefinitely.

I've also two items in my inventory I can never remove, given their owners are dead. One was the killer in Windhelm (still have their stupid charm) and the other was Dravin, an elf outside Riften, whose bow I discovered (on chance) but now can't return because he thought he was so cool as to fend off a blood dragon with a carrot. His body's been there since level 20ish or so.

Some quests were quite fun to do, and I wouldn't mind redoing them, some were downright frustrating, and repeating them dreads me.

Thus, I've been weighing the pros/cons all day regarding a restart.

I hope Beth offers a patch which prevents any quests from occuring if said character is dead, and allow us to remove inventory items as well.

Silver lining: Dravin's bow is "Flawless", the only item in my inventory to receive the upgrade.

There is one slight interaction -i believe- between finishing the DB quest line then doing the civil war...

And all that includes in who you swear you oath too if you side with the imperials.

If you can equip the bow as a weapon, then just put it on one of you're weapon rack/displays..its where i put all my "quest-related" weapons if im not doing quest yet, or the quest has gone wrong.
