How would you defend yourself with only 100 health points in

How would you defend yourself with only 100 health points in end game against dragons as a Mage without any help from summons or risen dead people?

I'm thinking that Wards with these perks from Restoration and Alteration: (is the best way?) What do you think?

Ward Absorb | Wards recharge your magicka when hit with spells.
Atronach | Absorb 30% of the magicka of any spells that hit you.

And is it possible to meet two dragons at the same time? If yes, what then? :mage:

I'm going to level up with putting every points into magicka. So I will play with 100 health.

These are the only skills I will use:
  • Illusion (Fury, Fear, Charm, Invisibility)
  • Conjuration (Bound Bow)
  • Destruction (Fire, Ice, Shock)
  • Restoration (Wards)
  • Alteration (Detect Life\Detect Undead)
  • Alchemy (for poisons)
  • Will only wear cloth.
That's it. So I won't put any perks to anything else then the magic schools I've mention above, that will effect the skills I've mention above.
I won't ever use anything else because it's the way the character is built, role playing style.
So he won't be able to heal himself. :teehee: I think this is going to be exciting.

But I may perhaps pay a mercenary for her service in the beginning of the game to get the Bound Bow spellbook early on.
So I really do hope this will be playable against dragons when I need to block out the damage they deal when I get stuck somewhere in the woods.
I really, really hope Wards will keep the damage away with the right perks.

I think that summoning atronachs with conjuration will make it too simple for me.

I don't need the Bound Bow to be powerful, it's a situational weapon that I can use with poisons such as stop magicka regeneration of my enemies for X seconds or make them X% weaker against shock spells for example. :shocking:

Spoiler
Get the white phial, fill it with a healing potion

Get automatic recovery perks. Get healing spells, a powerful ward and stay out of attack lines. If you are allowed to enchant then enchant your items with resist magic, resist individual element spells.

Also get Mayhem and Harmony as soon as possible. Helps you win fights more easily without risking your health.

I really hope this is just a hypothetical scenario.... I can't imagine the frustration that could be involved with that.

You run. Run until your feet bleed. Then carry on running.
But yeah, get some fully upgraded armor, loads of health potions and perks in restoration.
Or you could go the ilusion mage route

bound bow without archery perks will be underpowered at high levels. If you aren't taking archery perks, you would be better off summoning atronachs with conjuration, and sticking to destruction, but destruction becomes underpowered without magicka cost reduction enchantments.

I have a lot of magicka reduction gear and the impact perk so I just spam dual lightning bolt at everything and it can't ever attack. Quaff a potion or two if magicka gets low.

Don't forget the Become Ethereal shout too.

Invisibility to hide yourself, Alteration's mage armour to protect yourself, Grand healing and Call to arms to strengthen anyone fighting the dragon for you. Run towards mammoths, giants, etc and then hide.

You'll be surprised how well the Lesser Ward from Restoration will protect you, and it has the lowest cast cost of the three wards. I use it all the time against dragons and mages, and it keeps me alive with 100 in health and the rest in magic. Like you, I don't use armor, but I do use the mage robes to increase magic and decrease the cost of casting spells.

If you're not using healing spells or potions, you might consider the Avoid Death perk in Restoration, which will heal you once a day if your health falls below 10%. So it's not like you're casting a healing spell. Keep in mind it's only good once a day though.

Yes, definitely get Ward Absorb, Recovery, and Necromage.

Also, you didn't mention you weren't using a follower, just no atronarchs or raised dead. A follower will really help you stay alive, and distract the enemy so you can have some time to heal. I give Lydia all the staffs I find, like Paralyze, Fireball, etc. and she uses them! Sometimes I just get out of the way and let her do the initial damage.

Good luck!

Fireballs and healing spells. I've never upgraded my health or stamina once on any of my mages.

It's perfectly doable with a mage character on Expect. My High Elf mage character with 500 magicka (and no extra points on health and stamina) can do it with ease. Just remember to use a combination of Atronach stone + atronach perk + agent of mara and spellbreaker. This practically negates almost all damage from dragon breaths.

Stun cast perk, wards, Atronach perk, Breton Blood passive, Agent of Mara passive and the Dragon Skin ability is how I handle dragons with 100 HP.

My mage never had one level put into health, and in his case offense is the best defense.

I'm doing something similar with my dual-wielding thief/assassin. I've been putting all points into Stamina. It's getting interesting, I have to say. At level 35 I'm starting to have to run away more often than I did earlier. It has definitely gotten tougher recently. I've been tempted to starting putting some points into health. We'll see how it goes.

What difficulty level?

Honestly dragons can be pretty tough their magic doesn't always get blocked by terrain I've tried it around rocks and stuff.
