How do you overwrite once you've updated a Mod?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:02 pm

Alright so i followed the tutorials near enough to the letter to make 'Lokirs Tomb'. Like everyone i need my sleep so i turned off my computer, obviously saving my work. I come back on and i'm up to the part where i have to add clutter to the tomb. I add the clutter then have to go out (:/) so i save again and it asks me something i dont understand, so i just hit 'Yes to all'. So once again i come back and find that the tomb, and the clutter are in 2 seperate Cells. The clutter is just floating there, still where it was in the Tomb, only the tomb is in a different cell. I understand i can simply copy it all and paste it into the Tomb but what should i do when i want to save it, and keep it al l together?

You need to make sure you are setting your mod as the active file, else anything you save the first time will not be there the second time, todo so when loading the mod, right click it twice to set to active.

Thanks, but its still not working.

So here's the process i do.

1) Load up CK
2) Data>Lokirs Tomb(Set as active file)
3) Lay down a glass dagger on a table
4) File>Save
5) It says 'MASTERFILE: Unable to complete operation due to failure removing previous file.
Plugin 'Data/Lokirs Tomb.esp' may be locked or read only.

Temp file 'Data/Lokirs Tomb.tes' contains saved data.

"Yes to all" will disable all warning for this content.'

Then it gives me 3 options. 'Yes', 'No' and 'Yes to all'

When i hit 'Yes to all', nothing happens, it even asks me if i want to save it when i try to close it. When i hit 'No' it asks me if i want to close the program. When i hit yes it does the same as 'Yes to all'

Why the hell does it have to be so confusing?!?!

Are you running the Creation Kit as administrator? Try that. (Right click on the exe, properties, compatability, always run as Admin. When you run it and the UAC window pops up, click Allow)

What do i hit when i save, 'Yes', 'No' or 'Yes to all'?

You shouldn't even get a box. What's the error message?
