I was playing Tower Defense before but couldn't suss out how to smash a turret out.. how do ya?

Select the turret on the D-Pad, and press X when you have it facing the desired direction.

i dont even understand what your trying to say? if you want to "smash" a turret you shoot it or throw a grenade at it or use an emp to disable it. if you want to plant one push the certain D-Pad that your turret is selected on, hold "X" (on the xbox controller) and there you go.
