Also, good luck trying to get another companion. Their "join me" text is most likely missing from your game too.

Alright, I fixed (I think) the problem.

Go to system memory and clear your cache.

That gets rid of game updates, while preserving game saves.

Once I re-loaded the game it said my save game was missing downloadable content (the patch). But I loaded anyways.

Basically, you're playing with version 1.0 of the game.

And yes, I know I'm impatient.
