How's your gold?

Post » Mon Jul 04, 2011 10:34 am

Here's a question to all you smarties that got away with 37 bars of gold in Dead Money, how is it? What'd you do with it? Did you fill up your bathtub with it? Did you place it around your Lucky 38 suite for looks? Or do you place it on the bodies of your fallen comrades as a sign of friendship? Did you throw them into Lake Mead just to say you did? Share it! :D

I personally didn't get away with the 37 gold bars, so I used console commands to spawn 37 of them. I dropped them on my bed in the main room of the Lucky 38 so I can sleep with my money! When ever I get home I am welcomed by the sweet smell of gold! xDD I was thinking about putting them in 37 secret stashes across the Mojave so I can get them whenever I need money. :3 But rolling in dough is a lot more fun.

What did you guys do with your gold bars?

Didn't get away with them? Then what would you do if you did?

I use them to buy a butt load of ammo from the Armory Master at Hoover Dam. You can never have enough energy weapon, minigun ammo, and grenade machinegun ammo.

I have them stashed in Novac, The Abandoned BoS Bunker and in the Lucky 38 for use in purchasing my collection of weapons and ammo. Since I play in hardcoe mode only, I store the weapons and ammunition in caches all over the Wasteland so I don't have to carry much.

All 37 are in the safe of my Novac room.

I have never needed even one bar - I take them all only because the DLC was designed to *stop* us taking all 37. And when devs say: "You can't do this," I say: "Your mother."

Win.

I...I've yet to finish Dead Money. I tried twice, and got frustrated twice (I made it to the bell tower and activated the Gala, but kept dying on the way back with my energy weapons character that had no ammo for anything, 3 Gas Bombs, a low sneak skill, and 0 points in unarmed and melee).

To this very day, not even a single gold bar has entered my inventory.
I wouldn't even know what to do with them if I got them. (Cookie to whoever gets that movie.)

I tried beating it about 4 times. It all went good, but when ever I got the collected 500 Sierra Madre chips achievement my game would crash. I decided to not collect the chips anymore so I went on with the game avoiding crashes just to be stopped by a glitch at the fountain. Elijah wouldn't acknowledge that the 3 were gathered at the fountain, therefore I couldn't continue. At the time I wasn't too savvy with console commands, I could have used it to finish the quest and move on. But even with that I would need to work around a lot of things to keep the game as normal as possible. With console commands I can use "Unlock" on everything and breeze through to the vault, but where's the fun in that right?

I used 2 of my gold bars to buy 15,000 caps worth of ammo. Was it worth it? xD

it's so awesome. i got them all in the safe at novac, and everytime i run low on caps from spending ridiculous amounts of money on things i don't need, i just grab a few more and sell 'em to whoever. sometimes i buy perfect condition anti-materiel rifles and just throw them on the ground.......BECAUSE I CAN. :disguise:

I only took two. :sadvaultboy:
I sold one for some weapons, armor, and ammo. The other one sits in my Abandoned Bos Bunker waiting until I move everything to our "Player housing" in OWB.

I hear rumors that it's "The Sink", but I really have no clue. Only (about) two more weeks! :D

Supposedly it's the place with the talking appliances and what not (I think).
