HUD color

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 12:46 am

in F3 you could change your HUD and pip boy screen color to either green, amber, blue, or white.

will we be able to do this in F:NV? It's probably obvious to you guys that we will, but I haven't been paying attention to the advertising so I wonder if it'll be in this game, I hope so since I didn't really like the Nuclear Green of the last game and not really liking the Amber of this game. I prefer blue :D

Yea. I've seen different HUD and PipBoy colors in the videos that I've watched.

Also, If you buy the PC version I believe you'll be able to edit the colors to anything you want in the .ini file. At least that's how it was w/ FO3

I'd assume so, but I really like the Amber color anyway.

I certiantly hope so, Blue was easiest on my eyes. I asked this to two Devs a while ago, but neither gave me an answer back. :sadvaultboy:

Classic green all the way.

Though amber was the easiest on the eyes in FO3 in my opinion.

So far in videos I think I've seen amber, white, blue and green. That'd just about cover it.

I'll keep the hud on amber, but I have to have the pip-boy on green. It feels weird with a different color.

I've seen a gameplay vid where it was blue. Probably has all the same colors as F3.

If it was in Fallout 3, it'll be in New Vegas. More likely with different colors to choose from, too.

Hopefully red, with anything that'd be red regularly being blue or some other color that contrasts red really well like white or somethin'.

I like the green. When my friend told me you can change the color ( I didn't know you could) I said " I'll just keep it green".

If you don't mind playing with RGB values, you can set whatever color you want in the INI file. Make a back up first just in case you mess it up. Note, this is from Fallout 3, New Vegas should be the same, or similar.

iSystemColorTerminalRed=33
iSystemColorTerminalGreen=231
iSystemColorTerminalBlue=121

iSystemColorSystemRed=26
iSystemColorSystemGreen=255
iSystemColorSystemBlue=128

It'd be cool but I don't think I can do that with console version of the game, Xbox360 for me. :facepalm:

Dont know the color pallete for the console, but I think you have some choices.

However, for the PC folks, if you want Magenta, knock yourself out.

I definitely wanted red for my evil runthrough in FO3.

Don't really care if it would have been an eyesore, it still feels like the one color that should have been there.

Red... The color of communism......
But it's okay :shrug: , i like red :hehe: !

I think they should add red, it's an eyesore, but it's rare to see a red HUD
The hard thing is, you can't easily distinct hostiles with friends..... :mellow:

yeah, that part svcked in FO3 when the the hud was red (a good color for evil types) it made it hard to see what was hostile or not.

An RGB slider would be best. Why bother with presets? Its a simple feature thats been around for decades.

But if you kill anything that moves and steal anything it doesn't matter. Perfect HUD for a evil play through because everything is for you to take and kill.
