Hunger Games Videogame

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 12:14 pm

Hello gamers from all around the world,

I am starting this new topic to ask you guys about something. Well first of all this is NOT about Skyrim, but if i wanted someone to think about this i had to write it where someone would see it and i have to say Skyrim is the best of all the games Bathesda has made so far!

I am starting this new topic to ask the people, the gamers like me, what do they think about a Hunger Game video game produced by Bathesda! So far all the awesome games where you can choose to do whatever you want have been produced by them ( Skyrim and Fallout for example ). So i just saw a fiew videos on Youtube about the idea of the Hunger games game and i was amazed how people ware commenting adding ideas asking... its just crazy!

Some of the ideas were:
- Being able to create an own charecter
- Having huge maps
- Being able to CHOOSE the path the gamer follows

Whoever is thinking of that is thinking about Bathesda, they are the only ones who are actually so far surprising us with this kind of amazing works!
One thing that surprised me was that what the people wanted a multiplayer game, a multiplayer game which was huge! With lobbies of around 60 players, just imagine a world full of other gamers that are fighting for survival against each others. The blood, the skill, the fun!

I really wanted to ask you guys, "What do you think about it? Dont you agree that i would be an awesome experience??"
Please leave your comments and your ideas. I know this topic is not about Skyrim but with all the people that will be seeing this, i think that together we can make Bathesda hear us!

From a gamer to the gamers,
Thank you.

P.S. Forgive me for any spelling mistakes, my first language isn't English i am from Spain and I have tryed really hard to learn the lenguage even though i might be able to talk, my writting is probably awfull, so sorry for that!

I started reading it but by the time I got only a few lines past "it's NOT about Skyrim", I realised I had stopped reading and was actually thinking about Khajiit kittens

Think about it as a Skyrim Muliplayer game! Adding some awesome stuff that Fallout had like deseases would make it even more amazing! Just think about having to survive! With the amazing graphics and huge maps! But people that were actually looking for you and wanting to kill you! You would have to hunt, sleep eat ...

The Hunger Games servers for Minecraft that I've seen have pretty much nailed it. Look up some Let's Play Minecraft: The Hunger Games on Youtube to see what I mean.

Don't be so harsh on him guys! In my opinion, Bethesda doesn't seem like the best developer for this type of game.

Welcome to the forums.

But I agree with most, it doesn't sound like a very good idea.

Your post is well laid out, properly punctuated, and easy to read. No need to apologise; your English is very good and you get your point across clearly. Stick around and you'll only get better.

Seriously, check out the Minecraft videos. It looks awesome. In the right hands, this could be a very entertaining multiplayer game. I don't think Bethesda are the best choice for it though. They have very little multiplayer gaming experience on their hands.

What would be amazing if they made an official completely open world ES style Lord of the Rings game. A mod is already being created but it may never be finished. An official game would be amazing.

I honestly don't know which company could pull this off. I think that the best bet would be to have a very good world generator that created a new map for every game. Maybe you could specify certain parameters, such as world size, theme (desert, forest, mountainous, water, a combination, etc.), hostility (how many traps, etc.). If you only had a few maps, eventually everybody would become familiar with them and that element of unpredictability would be lost.

Implement a good hunger and dehydration system, a crafting system, and a day/night cycle, and you're good to go. That's why Minecraft works so well for it. It already has these things, as well as being able to generate very organic worlds.

P.S. Thank you for the support in my english:)

No problem. I wish I spoke a second language! :P

Your English is fine. I couldn't tell it was a second language to you through reading your writing.

People are always putting down ideas, but some become a reality.

But a Hunger Games online multiplayer video game would be pretty interesting. Especially being able to fight for survival and build shelters, starting off alone and meeting with other players in the same situation. Being able to join certain factions that compete for power and territory would make the game excellent. Trading, bartering with others that are more powerful, or killing/fighting others and taking their food and stuff.

Thank you!! this kind of replies are great i hope if we get enough of them someone with enough influence could make Bathesda, or anoher company realise how cool this would be!

I suppose they could use what they know about open world games and make a decent multi-player survival game. I'm not sure why it would need to be based on The Hunger Games (except for the obvious marketing tie-ins), though. Besides, Bethesda wouldn't touch all the child-killing with a 50-foot pole.

The whole "broadcast fight to the death" concept isn't unique to The Hunger Games. In fact, I think I might like something along the lines of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Running_Man a little better in video game form. ;)

Oh, come on. That wouldn't happen.

They would use the word "condones" rather than "allows." :P

If Bethesda was going to do an RPG on a movie franchise I would rather they do Harry Potter. There's a lot of potential in that universe.

It's Bethesda, not Bathesda. Sorry, that was just bothering me, otherwise your english is fine.

But yahhhh, no. Hunger Games, despite already going to be horrible, as all movie-based games are, would be even worse on Gamebryo or anything related to Gamebryo. Believe it or not, Bethesda isn't the all-supreme reigning god of games.

Rockstar might be able to pull it off, but they have their hands full at the moment and I doubt they'd go after it anyway.

And, being PG-13 movie, it's usually a T rated game. Not much room for fun there.

Seeing as this is in CD, the best you can hope for is a polite "no" and a suggestion that they get back to their roots [read as: Morrowind] which will then degrade into another in a long line of "Morrowind vs. everyotherbethgame" thread.

Have fun!

I'm sorry, but most games based off a book/movie series ends harshly. Take a look at the Harry Potter games; Didn't really click.
