Hunter Roleplay

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:47 pm

Does anyone have any tips? Currently my character I started for Dawnguard is simply a hunter who wants nothing to do with being the chosen one. He's stationed in Falkreach and is a traumatized Stormcloak veteran preferring not to have anything to do with Imperials or Thalmor. Any tips?

Also, I want to activate Dragons in the main game, but I absolutely don't want to absorb the dragon soul and henceforth be called Dragonborn. Is this possible?

The character isn't a hero in the prophetic sense, more of a Hemingway hero where things happen and he is forced into them. So this turns into smaller quests such as going into a cave to find a list man.

on pc you can probably move on to the mainqueststage that makes dragons spawn via console commands.

on console it is completely impossible to spawn dragons.

I believed so. I'm on a 360.

- Get to know Hircine.
- You will need to activate dragons via the main quest
- Define what you will hunt. Will it be mythical creatures or normal animals such as deer.
- Use a bow and craft your own arrows (If the DLC lets us)
- Maybe get a wife who will set up a store for your various meats and furs you collect.

I've spent a lot of time hunting on a couple of my characters. It's certainly a fun aspect of the game. Making a hunter type character would probably be one of the better ways to play outside of being dragonborn. Unfortunately on the 360 there's really no way to bring out the dragons without starting the main quest.

I think you can craft and enchant your own bolts, so make your own bolts, armor (leather and eventually scaled), and hunt and fish your own food.

I don't think you can kill dragons without absorbing their soul.

...You gain a dragon soul regardless if you kill it. If you don't want to get labeled Dragonborn or any of that jazz, then don't do the main quest.

You made the right choice with stationing your post in Falkreath, it is rich with deer, elk, foxes, and bears. If you are planning on doing some alchemy, there is an alchemy station in the inn.

Well find "Bow of Hunt" (not really great but pretty good against animals).

Find Froki's Shack in the Rift and do the sacred trials of Kyne quest to become a true Nordic hunter.

but i think you don't absorb a dragons soul, if you don't get near it. also means you can't loot the dragon.
