HuntersArchersRangers...Wheres The Love?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 10:48 am

I can not for the life of me fit in Skyrim as a bow user. I try and try again to join guilds but they dont fit my playstyle. I dont want to be a thief or an assasin (DB). I can join the Companions but theyre just too balls to the wall and dont offer anything usefull. God forbid if youre an elf (Bosmer) cause I feel so damn out of place. Dunmers are cool and make sense to be in Skyrim, except they dont have that archery feel like Bosmers do. I sure as hell dont want to play as a human either. *sighs*......this svcks.

Hunters joinable faction with their own questline would have been cool.

Roleplay it. It's a sandbox game after all.

I feel your pain. Although I hate legolas bosmers . Some time ago I asked for a guild that would fit characters that revere nature, such as druids, rangers, shamans, etc.., and new skill trees / spells to support them. I seriously doubt we will see any of that in a DLC, but a man can dream.

Mods will fix it.

Its very hard for me cause alot of the dialogue and quest for the various guilds kill the immersion for me. I also agree with Pedro about the game needing something more specific for hunters.

Spot on Asgard.

How exactly do those kill immersion?

This would be great in a world like Skyrim. You can try and roleplay an archer/alchemist type ranger with a bit of magic but it could have been better implemented with more options.

Yes! I've been thinking about such a guild too. It should be more neutral, not so combat-oriented as the Companions, and have more quests in open locations, not in dungeons (unless we're hunting cave bears ). I'm not sure how that would play out with druids, though. I mean, can you have a hunter and a protector of nature in the same faction? It's something to think about.

Well, Im not a thief and I dont want to be in the DB. Thats pretty much my options to be around npcs with my skills. I want to be apart of a guild that is more nature based with the skills of bow, stealth, alchemy, light or no armor, without having to be a thief or assasin. There isnt an option for that. Also, being a Bosmer I find it hard to even have an excuse to be in Skyrim. One was to look into the rumor of Werewolves except you have to join the damn Companions.

There are a couple of nature type quests I have found, one Daedric and one an old guy in a hut in the hills. But it wouldn't worry me playing the Companions line ("don't offer anything useful" is irrelevant to me). One of their main people is a big hunter and as the plot develops, well, can't write it here due to spoilers. There is also an expert archer who lives in the mountains. There are a couple of places that have set-ups (journals etc.) relating to spriggans.

It's your own fault if you miss out on the thieves guild. It's the best quest line in the game. I love rangers but I did all guilds except mages with mine.

The thieves guild is tied with the DB in my opinion, and to the OP, a hunters guild would have been glorious.

Which only covers under 1 / 4 of the skyrim community. Mods are great, but are not a solution for everything. Especially people that do not have the internet, i know, unthinkable, but there are those people.

That is only true for blizzard games, i dont think you need the internet to install skyrim. Obviously for steam you need th net, but not for the hard copy. And there are plenty of people on console who are not connected to the internet.

Tell me about it, I was doing the Winterhold questline for a while and didn't realise that they'd thrust the role of Arch-Mage onto an Archer who only really uses Summon Flame Atronach. Probably not the best decision :P

If you don't think it fits, just come up with role-playing justification so it does. The game becomes more fun when you start filling in the blanks.

It would be nice to have had a stealth guild that wasn't so inclined towards more evil-doing.

There's a guy living out in the wilds somewhere near Riften. If you talk to him you get a series of quests that require you to kill the spirits of multiple animals. It would suit the OP.
