Ice=horrible.

Umm my point is pretty simple. Why does the ice on the ground, mainly in windhelm, look like its from the ps1? Im on the 360 playing on a 65 inch 1080i tv. With patch 1.5.

Because youre using a 360.

There is no real difference. Skyrim is ugly on all three platforms anyway you slice it. Nice try though.

Yeah, the ground in Windhelm looks terrible - it bugs the hell out of me.

I don't approve with how the PS3 is being treated, but I don't go around posting PS3-fanboyism everywhere like you have.

Anyway, do you mean the ice spell remnant stuff or the snow? The ice spell effects on the ground/walls is pretty bad, but I don't notice a problem on the environment itself. I am on PS3 however.

Well i have noticed that the more room the save uses the badder the graphics can get, i have studied the septims (coins) and the snow and its how it is. In the begining of the game where ur save is not much GB the graphics seem to work fine (atleast in my game) but it gets worse.

You're the first part of my name. You obviously dislike the Xbox. You don't need to keep showing us that, it is redundant and unecessary.

This is not a snide remark against Bethesda, but IMO graphics have never been the strong point of they're games. I've always thought Fallout 3 and Skyrim looked exceptionally fuzzy and strange, and Oblivion looked like it was made of plastic, though I personally thought it was easier to look at than Fallout/Skyrim.

However, it does not take away from the game, again in my opinion.

I hope you're not talking about skyrim as a whole being ugly because the graphics are extremely good considering te size of the game. I agree some aspects aren't the prettiest. But most place are superb.

Hi there trollface! How's it going? You have a peculiar alias!

Have you seen these? From the forthcoming AC. Look fine. Notice the pawprints ( http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/04/13/assassins-creed-3-screenshots-show-deer-hunting-in-a-snowy-landscape/ )

Other games that are large/larger and have just as much content - on Xbox, PS3 and PC - have looked better. Also, other games on all three consoles, with similar production costs but a smaller world, have had far worse graphics. I don't think size has to much to do with it all.

How doesn't it? Everything was handcrafted by Beth. Which games have been larger that are better looking and you're able to enter every building or structure?

Of the very top of my head, Red Dead Redemption, there was no fade of scenery, you could see every nail on every plank on every foot of siding on every building in the game, the weather, skies, the way the sun and shadowed moved, ect. There is no "but it is not an RPG!!" defense here, its a larger game, with as much content, and the graphics to boot.

Edit: I feel I need to put something here to repeat what I said earlier. It is not an insult against Bethesda - at the expense of the very best graphics on earth, they built a believable, livable, breathing world. Graphics don't sum up the game. However, they do not stand alone, there are other outstanding games out there, where graphics we're more of a focus.

I don't see what you're talking about OP.

Ever since 1.5 any snow/ice textures have greatly improved for me visually. Maybe try deleting the patch, then clearing the system cache, and downloading the TU again? Try something cause it really shouldn't look like that.

Even before the most recent patch my ice/snow never looked as bad as you're describing.

I'm not saying that they aren't better graphic wise (look at just cause 2, WOW) and I'm not saying its an RPG!!!! But, for as many zones as there are and for the size and all the actions you can do to the environment, I think we are pretty blessed with the graphics we've been given.

This is no bash agains red dead. Great, great game.
