Idea for hardcoe mode

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 9:52 pm

Don't know if anyones said it already but i think removing quest markers on the compass telling you where to go should be turned off on hardcoe to make it alot more well harder. Would make alot of quests where you have to get certain items better so you have to do some exploring to find them or ask around for the location of them.

This should be in the suggested Realism mode.

I couldn't agree more with this. Possibly the only caveat I'd make is that a very high Survival would allow you to notice nearby interest markers (like within 100m for high survival, something like that)

Wouldn't high perception make more sense?

Eh. Map markers for places you don't know about could be disabled, but it doesn't make sense to disable them for places that you were specifically instructed to go to and presumably given instructions on how to get there. Likewise for quest markers. If you were given a quest of "Go find foo", it shouldn't give you a quest marker, but if you were given the quest "Go talk to foo at bar, he's there around 4pm", then it doesn't make sense to disable the marker because you know exactly where you're going.

Well that would be an exception if you are told clearly where to go then it would make sense to have them there.

Oh god no. That doesn't make the game harder just aggravating.
