There would be some down sides to carrying one, however. Top running speed would be reduced (maybe, say, halfway between running and walking? Maybe a nice easy jog?) Also, you would not be able to use any two-handed weapons while holding it (in other words, pistols and SMGs only, with low accuracy [as in no aiming down the sights]). When using a pistol with a suitcase equipped, you'd have to hold it one-handed at all times, and you'd be a bit more inaccurate, considering the fact that you wouldn't be able to use the iron sights as good, and you would be unable to hold it two handed. Also, firing rate might be reduced a bit too (wouldn't want the recoil to cause your gun to spin out of your hand!). With SMGs you'd pretty much be spraying and praying, unless you fire in very short controlled bursts with it. If you wanted to use two handed weapons again you could either drop the suitcase, leaving the items inside it there, or you could put it into your inventory, and the suitcase itself would weigh, say, 5 pounds. Also, there would be other versions of suitcases that would allow you to hold more wight in them, and effect your top run speed as well. While some moderately priced suitcases might allow you to hold, say, 100 pounds of stuff, your top run speed might be severely reduced, and only top dollar suitcases would allow you to hold large amounts of items while also allowing you to run at a good pace.
Personally, I'd love this to be implemented. Imagine getting a reinforced suitcase, allowing you to hold 100 pounds. You, wearing a suit and hat, walk into a town that is hostile to the NCR, and go into the center of the town. You open the suitcase... and pull out [and equip] a set of NCR Desert Armor, then pull out a Military Assault Rifle (or whatever they call the M16 now) and start hosing down the townspeople.
Or, better yet, you manage to have a suitcase stuffed with goodies sneaked into one of the casinos, in, say, one of the bathroom stalls. You play the slots, win a tiny bit, lose more, then go into the bathroom.. walking out in Combat Armor with a SMG in one hand and a grenade in the other!
Imagine the fun you could have with this!
With the different styles of suitcases, they would all look different (for instance, the cheap ones, maybe some of the ones you'd find jut lying about in the wastes, would be kind of patchy, maybe some holes in them, not so good, with low capacity, while some of the ones you could buy in the Strip might look like tooled black leather, gleaming in the sun, allowing you to hold maybe even 100 or more pounds!) I realize that putting, say, 50 or 100 pounds of stuff into a suitcase isn't that realistic, but it's Fallout, people!
So.. what d'ya guys think?
