An idea which will put everybody all right

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:19 am

Hello,

Here we are, I come to propose you an idea which will put everybody all right as for the gore in Rage :

- A system allowing to switch the game in "Mature" mode or in "Teen" mode.

I have already seen this system, in Free-To-Play game. (Genesis AD for who don't know).
If in Free-To-Play, this system exists, then why not in a Pay-To-Play and as well to develop that Rage ?

I hope that my idea will please ^^

Good day.

Systems like this have been around for a while, although now they're usually a simple blood/gore toggle in the options.

If RAGE is going to be rated Teen it's probably because that's what the devs feel works best for the game and/or that's the market they want to target. Either way adding a 'mature' option doesn't fit with this.

But RAGE is going to a M mention, the gameplay video at E3 show this !

It's for this cause I proposed this idea.

Ah, sorry there was a thread before about the game's supposed T rating. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if there are some options to tone down the game, they seem pretty common.

Mod will not possible ?

During the E3 interviews Tim Willits said that the editor will ship with the game. Nobody has said whether there will be an SDK yet.

I honestly don't understand some people's craving for excessive gore, but whatever floats your boat. =)

Im suprised that now adays most games dont have this. Games should be rated like "Teen to Mature". Meaning that a parent could lock the mature stuff for thier kids and the rest of us could see/do/experiance whatever we want. Ive had enough of games getting altered just to make it for a wider audience. It wouldnt be too hard for a console/pc to have a parental system that would automaticly trigger the games played on it to be the level set by the parents. This could open a wide range for game creators instead of having them pinned down by the soccer moms.

No, gob no. Unless this means there would be a teen setting for the multiplayer that automatically kicks in so that I never have to hear another child scream becasue he just got killed again. I don't want any child to play this game if it's M, MW2 has made me hate children....and hacker's and glitchers.....and kinda made me lose faith in the gaming industry.

Stop trying to tone down games. Your only hurting them. A post apocalyptic setting is going to be a violent one. If a game where the predominant is trying to end people's lives is bloodless and clean-mouthed, the devs have made a huge mistake. Making it to where people don't bleed when they die doesn't mean that they're not dead, or that it's not violent, it just means that squeamish people will be able to simulate killing easier.

I'm curious...this is supposed to be similar to fallout3 in the manner of the post-apocalyptic, but it's going to be a cleaner and less gory?
