Didn't put this in the dlc thread as I tried that before, it didn't get discussed as the threads move so fast.

It's based around the 'great collapse' which is rather mysterious and unexplained.

Maybe something/someone is attacking winterhold or areas of skyrim that is linked to the great collapse.
So you travel back in time using the elder scroll and experience what actually happened, who was to blame and how to defeat this new enemy in skyrim. I'm thinking this could be linked to one of the daedric lords, maybe a weapon was lost in the great collapse that can be found by traveling back in time..

Whether the elder scrolls can actually 'move' you through time so you can interact with the past world is up for debate, considering we are talking about an item that allows you to experience the past, it wouldn't be so crazy a suggestion that you could travel back.
But I don't think we need to travel back, just to experience the great collapse and uncover the location of a certain weapon/item that allows us to defeat a modern enemy.

Any opinions?

This is a decent idea, but it seems a little short for serious consideration.

Well I thought we could discuss it, I haven't gone into who is attacking skyrim or what needs to be obtained to stop it.
