First off, I am in awe of the talent at Bethesda and in no way am I complaining, just dreaming.
I love purchasing houses in the game, but I think the concept of title and land ownership could be taken to a whole new level. I would like to see a game where the money you accumulate actually means something! I lose all kinds of motivation to continue playing when I have 200,000 gold and I own every property I can own in the game. Wouldn't it be cool if you could purchase land, then improve it? So let's say I do enough in a hold to be eligible to purchase one or all of three or four properties. Then, when I have collected enough cash, I can choose to improve the land in expensive stages leading to establishing a tavern, meadery, house, stables, etc? Maybe, you could even purchase land somewhere which could be developed into a full blown estate. You start off with a wood house, then you can pay to upgrade it several times and eventually it is a manor or castle! Maybe I could buy a title (combined with my reputation, too, of course).
You could construct some neat missions around these endeavors, too. It would be neat if you became rivals with other nobles as you challenge their dominance through gaining property and title...
Also, as you establish businesses, they yield an income.
Finally, I have often thought that I would love to go cave diving and cat burgling for some artifacts, art, and other treasures with which I could then decorate my abode(s).
So when I am finished with a game, I am sitting in my castle in the middle of my estate with hired workers, purchased horses in my stables, surrounded by my many pieces of art and artifacts, with a business or two in the city...
