have pumped 60 hours into my only character so far and i couldnt figure out for ages how to improve enchanted armour etc till today when i looked at the smith perk properly. doh you guys got any stuff like that?

I've done a lot of traipsing back to the entrance of a dungeon when there's an exit right at the end that I missed...

Sprint button works on horses? Now you tell me.
Now I have the perk finally, I can make me some nice dragonbone swords. Oh wait.

Ah so using fireball point blank wasn't such a good idea after all.

When I first entered the Ratway, there was this unarmed dude called 'Gian the Fist' near the end of it. I was like 'ok, he wants a fistfight, so I give him the fistfight of his life'.
Bad idea: That dude 2 hit killed me, and later I found out that he was equipped with the Gloves of the Pugilist, which gave him +10 damage for unarmed attacks *facepalm*

Ditto.

Third character, followed the guard into the Helgen Keep.

He gave me the usual play, "Go look for some armor and weapons."

So, I'm running around touching the chests, going to the weapons rack - but I can't grab/equip anything.

Obviously, there must be something wrong with the game, because this is my third character and I know what I'm doing.

So, save game, exit, load game, run around the room, same results. OK, the game is doing something that's wrong.

I exit, reboot the computer, reload the game, but still can't grab the armor and the weapons.

I'm thinking of what I can do next, while I'm walking back to the guard.

As I'm getting close enough to him, I hear him talking.

"Oh, let me get those restraints off of your hands."

Facepalm.

Can't pickup anything when your hands are tied, third character sigh.
