I have decided I wanted to do make a character that was a thief, yet uses illusion to his advantage. I'm level 10. I'm argonian. And I have done some thieves guild quests.

Any tips for future reference?

Should I start practicing archery?

How should I engage in combat?



--Alright so I know what mostly to do now thanks to you guys..But I just have a generic question. If your a thief, that is for instance, a non-combat thief. What is their to do, just steal?(Yes i know, that's what thieves do, but is there anything else?)

Well, if your an Illusionist, I'd say you should try and avoid combat, unless it's necessary.

Invest heavily in all of your illusion perks. Get the muffle and invisibility spell use them two spells in unison. Be sure you get the quiet casting perk that is essential.

Invest one or two points in the base sneaking perk to make it more difficult for you to be detected.

Archery could be a skill to be considered if you intend to fight and not exclusively sneak and steal.

Im going to warn you right now that Stealth+Illusion can be gamebreakingly easy if you over abuse it. It is however still a lot of fun.

Basically you can just Frenzy everything and sit back and pick off stragglers, as an Illisionist you rarely have to fight more than 1 enemy at a time. You end up spamming Muffle a lot early on to level it, which will work well since youre a thief. Thats like really all there is to it, lol.

Get muffle boots and use sneak + invisibility. you don't have to fight unless you want to, since they cannot engage you unless you touch them. Enjoy sprinting through dungeons.
