Imperial are half way stormcloaks

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:44 pm

Whats wrong with the imperials? I sided with them just now, and befor that I actually took out a few stormcloak camps in Skyrim. Now when I'm tasked with clearing Fort Hragstead or whateever I go through the back where 2 Imperials are being attacked by their prisoner. Before I kill the unlucky prisoner the Imperials turn hostile, but I still kill the prisoner that tried to escape. I go deeper through the back side purposefully ignoring the imperials, and suddenly all the imperials, 20+, are attacking me. I check my map and quest log and the quest is gone along with my allegiance to the Imperials...What am I doing wrong? Should I enter thriugh the front?! I reloaded several times with the same outcome. I don't dun the imperial armor which I don't know could affect them. IMPERIALS ARE STORMCLOAKS!!!!!

No. They attack you for attacking an innocent. just leave the prisoner alone.

That may be a bug because my "Join the Stormcloaks." and "Join the Imperial Legion." options are gone from my journal, but I haven't joined either side. Have you tried talking to Tullius and/or Ulfric to see what happens? :P

The quest I was talking about was the clearing of Fort Hragstead. It's the main quest for joining the Imperials. It's not part of the the mis. quests :-l

It doesn't matter. the same thing happens if you see Imperials and Stormcloaks fighting in the streets [random encounter] and kill the opposite side. like you're an Imperial and you killed all the stormcloaks in the fight. the Imperials would become hostile.

Well, those aren't exactly Misc quests - they are the first ones for the Civil War.

You killed a prisoner, that's a crime.
Sure he was a Stromcloak prisoner but maybe they were going to interrogate him? Did you think they'd be happy?

As far as the game sees it, you broke the law and they're attacking you for your bounty.

Actually I didn't get a bounty. Guess it pays for helping the other side, but it bites you right back
