Edit: Thread title should read Improve survivalist skill.

I think the survivalist perk should have some upgrades to improve it. I've been using for awhile now to try it out and it does seen very fun going around and collecting all the ingredients that are needed but one of the very big down sides to it seems to be trying to find a campfire to make your food. I would like to see the ability to create your own campfire in an empty area, so all you would need to do would be to collect wood for the fire and so on.

Just having this one small thing would improve the skill alot in my eyes, what do you think?

Agreed that campfires are few and far between. It would be really nice if the outdoor grills and indoor stoves worked, or if there was a follower with a perk like Veronica's, for crafting elsewhere.

Or better yet, if we could use a hot plate as a "one-shot campfire". =)

Some people dont like fast traveling and just walk from place to place

Realism aside: traveling there, crafting, and traveling back means sitting through two loadscreens to make a piece of food. =(

Yah I think if they made a new follower (Preferably Legion) he/she should be able to have the ability to use everything a campfire does. Or we already have Raul, and Veronica so you could just add it to one of them. :shrug:

I like the idea for the "one-shot campfire" hotplates like Demon9ne said.
It would just be some much easier and fun to be able to make your own food right where you are rather than fast travailing all the way to Goodsprings and back each time you want to use your skill.
