Improving battle system..............

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:46 am

Personally I think that one way to improve the battle system is the locking system like in dark souls. Of course this would be optional. Second thought is maybe a few more moves with swords, axes and etc.It will be cool to have the option to swap weapons in one handed and 2handed mode with different combat moves(like in Dark souls).Third the ability to block with two swords for example.Another one is to have a few more quick buttons for the console players. For the immersion improvement I think that a few cut scenes before the bosses would be a nice one.

OK folks. Any thoughts...........................................................................................

Skyrim =/= Dark Souls

I know you love both games, I do too. But lets refrain from these sorts of ideas, they are unoriginal. Not sure if there's any buttons left on the layouts for console users to utilize your suggestions anyway

I know that those games are quite different and I personally like skyrim more. May you explain yourself why do you think that those ideas are unnoriginal, especially the optional locking system. And the original idea of this topic was not to compare those two games, as they both are the best RPGs in the curent console generation.

Well if you press right stick in ps3 or xbox 360 you lock on the enemy which you want to fight with and the attack will be adressed to him.But if you dont you can adress the attack in the direction which you want.

I wouldn't want that in a TES game at all.

Killcams are the best improvement in Skyrim in my opinion and i would love Bethesda to make further improvements on it like 1.5 patch as it seems will be.

I think the best way to improve the battle system is to make the blood to paint ground, walls, rocks, items, plants, containers, furnitures etc. Not only the characters in the battle and the items they are currently using.

In my humble opinion, the battle system isn't really (at least I wouldn't want it to be) the game's focus point. New additions are always welcome, but I wish they would go more in the direction of some little things, additions for easier RP-ing, etc.
Again, just something I had in mind. My two cents.

I agree with this. The combat is perfect and shouldn't be changed at all IMO.

You seriously don't appreciate it when you decapitate a bandit in slow motion and see his head rolling down the hill?

And also, mods. I know you console boys miss out on that, which is too bad, because they are awesome :) Personally using Deadly Combat, changes the combat to be faster and more skill-oriented. Duel Combat is also good I've heard.

A locking system no thanks I hate them but I would welcome the addition of an extra attack move stab/thrust would be good.

Of course this would be optional.

They're not big on optional if you haven't noticed.

And personally I don't think I'd like that. I think the combat is fine.
