Increase level cap

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:05 pm

They should increase the level cap for Skyrim because i have every skill at 100 and i would still like to be able to master all the actual skill bonuses(when you enter the constellations and chose the perks, you should be able to have all of them).

There would be no point. You'd just be over powered and surely just spoil the game

So, add more skills? remove the skill cap? or add more perks? because there isn't a "cap" on the levels in the traditional sense, just when you already have everything as far as it can go, also how are you not out of content to play?

yes its level 81 and a little more than half. They should raise this because this is such a odd number to stop at.

They can't raise it. You gain experience by leveling your skills, and if they're all at 100, you can't get experience, therefore you can't level up.

This is just a problem with having a perk system like this, skill seems to mean nothing and everything is tied into the perks.

No thanks. The best thing about the new system si that you can't have all the perks. Make a new character. My characters are usually finished levelling before level 50.

Why not make a new character?

So you got all your skills up to 100 by grinding for a million hours and yet it is strange to you why you are no longer leveling up? Probably you got your levels through console commands so just give yourself perks by console commands. Really it would make more sense to request that you get 3 perks a level (plus 11 bonus perks somehow) to achieve your goal.

Levels don't mean much... what they should do instead is add perk points you can get through quests if they were going to add levels.

If you have everything at 100 then you are already far more powerful than anything in the game. Why would you want it to go higher especially since the monster cap is supposed to be around 50? If you want to cheat just put godmode on.

That kind of attitude really hurt FNV where they kept increasing the level cap everytime they added a DLC. It completely ruined the balance of the game and even without trying you could easily have a "Master of All" character which is boring to play. Only people who want easy games would possibly want that. One of the people that worked on FNV, sawyer, even released his own personal mod recently that set the level cap back to 35.

@shagsbeard........I would rather see that but it should be very very very limited. Something along the lines of one extre perk point per DLC and no more.

I would guess given that our level is capped by our skills, and not by experience points, DLC could only do one of three things.

A: Not alterleveling. If previous Elder Scrolls titles are to be a judge this is what will happen.
B: Add a new skill per path, warrior, mage and rogue.
C: The DLC would give you bonus perks. These may be perk points or special DLC perks.

That's precisely the point and why it works so well. If it were all tied to the skill rating itself, you could become a god in everything... no fun. The perk trees force you to either go the "jack of all trades, master of none" route, or specialize, regardless of your ratings.

I think it's great the way it is... if anything, I'd rather see them add more perks, plus a way to redistribute your perks... but making it possible to max out every perk tree? No thanks.
