Increase SPECIAL? : Fallout: New Vegas

So, we have Skill Books that permanently increase Skills, but how do we increase SPECIAL stats? FO3 had the Bobbleheads but those are gone in NV.

Is Intense Training the only way?

If there are options, great; if not, whatever. I just want to know what the options are.

the Intense Training perk is the only way, to the best of my knowledge too

There may also be quest-provided bonuses, like the Per / Str one from the fire ants in FO3.
