Indestructible hats?

Post » Mon Feb 07, 2011 12:29 pm

In FO3 hats were indestructible, but in NV they get busted all the time. Any idea where to look to change that? I've checked their biped flags and they're set to hair, headband, hat - same as FO3. Other than that I'm not sure where to look.

All you have to do is increase the number under 'Health' in the various objects data window. However, you would have to increase it for each type of hat in the game.

Yeah, I was thinking about health. Although I only care about one hat - Desperado Cowboy. But I still don't get it why they're treated differently in NV while having seemingly similar attributes.

Because Obsidian wanted to make the game more realistic. Missiles don't normally ricochet off of party hats.

You go about it the other way around... give your head gear 10 health and no DT (that's no joke, it works)

They have no DT to begin with. Are you saying that reducing it's health to 10 (from 15) would make a difference?

I don't really know the reason, but I made some custom hats, a bandana, and glasses (nothing special about them, just added a custom object effect), all have 10 health, and as far as I can tell, they've never been damaged.

just try it, make yourself a new hat and go get shot in the head (you're more likely to get hit in the head when crouching) .
