Index of glitches/issues in Brink on Xbox360

This is not a thread for what we wish to see in the game beyond fixes for identifiable and irrefutable glitches or game breaking problems. This is not a thread for requesting new game modes, or whining about "useless" turrets, or anemic frags. This also pertains specifically to the Xbox 360 version. I scoured both the Bethesda forum and this one to quantify only the most common or pertinent issues both small and large and put them all in the same place.

If I was not absolutely head over heels in love with Brink I would not be wasting my time with this. I am a very VERY busy person and I cherish what little free time I get. One or two games a year is all I allow myself to play because of this and I choose wisely. Brink was to be one of those games and I'll be damned if I'm to give up the fight regardless of how cheated I feel. Phew! This is as bad as some relationships. And yes, Bethesda, SD, I feel cheated and wronged no matter how badly I love you and your games. Shame on you for doing this to us, but thank you for your responses here in this forum, and thank you for such a brilliant and obscenely fun game (when it works). I hope this won't be an utter waste of my time -- as I have little of it.

We know that Bethesda and SD are well aware by now of some of these issues, but I will put them in here anyway for your information.

A.I. Issues:

- Often times when the A.I. picks up the Data Key, they will stand immobile or wander in place.

A.I. movement glitch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cijYkVoHc1g
- This seems like a pathfinding glitch. We've all seen this from one degree to another; including "just standing there."

Other A.I. Issues:

Medic A.I. stands right on top of you or very near you and either won't revive you or revives another A.I.
- I imagine it's possible that the A.I. Medics don't have enough pips to throw a syringe at the time and maybe we're just being big cry babies?

A.I. getting OHKs (or near instant kills) on players often from an indiscernible direction before you can even react.
- We were under the impression that it was promised this would not be the case with Brink. What's going on here?

A.I. super intuition allows them to know where you are the very instant you aim at them or fire; usually leading to a players very quick demise.
- Is it possible that enemy A.I. can have the Combat Intuition perk?
- I, personally, have found that the Silencer plus Silent Running does, indeed, help this issue tremendously.

- The lag is experienced in every game type/mode. It appears to be far less intrusive or completely absent when playing strictly humans vs. bots, but can be just as bad as humans vs. humans.

- I'm assuming this has to do with a glitch spawning from the cool effect when nades go off. This effect is rad as hell, SD, so please don't nerf it. Just fix the choppiness.

"My Rank, or My Rank or Higher" seems to do nothing or the opposite of what you want it to.
- Please, clarify for us how this works or what can be done to fix it or what options can be made open to us?

Hacking issue: After hackbox is planted -- while still holding x -- if I move around a corner to continue hack, my weapon is automatically drawn and the hack abruptly stops. I have to return to the hackbox to restart.

Here is a small and quick index of problems presented in the video. NOTE: all of these issues look even worse in full 1080p:

- 1:04 First good, but not ONLY, example of bad texture pop

- 1:32 Extremely lo-res floor texture. Many textures in the game look like this. Not just the floors.

- 4:57, 5:26 You mentioned a "random blue color overtakes" your screen while sprinting. However, you are not sprinting in either of these examples of blue shadows. I see this on my 40" Sony through HDMI. The shadowed areas (not general shadows) are actually that blue in this game! The darker the level, the worse the shadowed areas are. I'm guessing this is most certainly tied to the overall murkiness of the Xbox360 version of the game.

- 6:57 Nothing against you, blueostrich -- you can't tell from the low quality of the video -- but here is a good example of the terribly low-res texture used for the skies.

Unfortunately, due to the low quality video (not your fault, blueostrich), the aliasing has been blurred out. It's the worst for distant characters (starting at a distance of about 20 feet; give or take) or in the "Be More Objective" challenge seeing all the crossing bars, fencing, and stairways. It's a mess.

The texture pop is bad, yes, but the ultra low-res textures and strangely low-res post process -- or whatever it is that is making this look like it's running on a Playstation 2 -- are far worse issues than the texture pop.

If I have missed anything, made a mistake, or you feel something requires clarification, please post it in the thread. I will do my best to get this revised as replies come in, however, as I stated, I am an extremely busy person and will probably not be able to do so until after the weekend. Hopefully, Bethesda, this will not only help the fans, but you guys as well as you search to identify the issues plaguing the release. Again, this is meant to strictly identify glitches or game breaking problems and not your requests for game modes, better guns, or more wicked SMART moves or whatever.

Good luck mate I think everyone ...well almost everyone is just about to give up on it I don't think they will even recognise that there is any major problem on the 360

Hey JGBarnes thanks for creating this thread. Also the "Content Corrupt" error is strange as well. I really enjoy this game also and will support as long as SD supports us.

In the cutscenes before each match I can't make out what they are saying. It sounds like someone talking in a super low voice while looking in the opposite direction. Even if I turn up the volume a bunch it still sounds wrong and I can't make every word out.

I dont think I've seen listed a visual/character model glitch that's similar to all models looking the same, or being randomized.

Except this model glitch will get you accused of cheating. I played as a light body with a team of friends and switched to my heavy class
and in the game I looked like a heavy to everyone on my team but to the other team I still had my light body class. What's more is they
appeared to be doing the same thing. So both sides thought the other side was cheating when that was not the case.

You're welcome, it took my entire morning to compile it. When, where, and how do you get this error?

Usually dialogue is delegated to a "center" channel. Do you have a 3.1 or 5.1 system with the center channel volume turned down? If you only have an older 2.1 system, or perhaps using only stereo through your TV, it is entirely possible that Brink was developed without this in mind and didn't master the audio to properly accommodate a simple left/right output.

I don't understand. How did you switch to your Heavy class? You have to quit out, switch to a different character, then reenter the game. You're saying you did just that and this still happened?

This could be related to Bryce's issue. Brink's audio might have been down sampled to stereo and is auto-switching to the game's source ouput regardless of client side settings. Or, if Brink is indeed supposed to be running in 5.1, then it certainly must be a glitch that is doing the down sampling.

Thank you for starting this thread - very well written and clear. I too have had many of those same issues. I would like to have many if not all of those fixed.

I'm the only one left out of the 31 people I know who had the game left. The rest have sold it to gamestop or on craigslist out of frustration.

I know an update is coming, let's hope it's chock-full of update goodness. :)
