Good day people of the north,

I'm sure this is no incredible news for most of the veteran modder cracks, but it sure is a information that should be passed on. Specially cause I'm in know that I literaly searched my **** off to find a decent tutorial that teaches me how to import new meshes for creatures. No matter where I searched, everyone said it's impossible. In fact it is possible without to much fiddeling. You won't find what you search for on the races or actors tab. The place were you wanna search is the armors, or more specifically, the 'Armor Addons' section.

What you do is, import your meshe (with your retexture) into a Armor Addon, then create a Armor that points to the AA and put the armor into the inventory of your actor. So if you want a retextured spider in your game:

1. Make your retexture
2. Point your .nif file to the retexture
3. import the .nif into a Armor Addon
4. import the AA into a Armor
5. Put the Armor inside a spider actor inventory
6. If you put the Armor inside a outfit it's easier to use one and the same retexture/remesh for all actors
7. A third way to make the textures active is by applying the texture directly inside the race...usually actors default to this if you don't give them a specific outfit

You're free to change textures from within the AA or directly inside the actor. It's incredibly easy. Just write spider into the filter and search inside Armor and Armor Addons. You'll understand how it's done. Hope this helps someone who was just as desperate as me, trying to find a possibility to give my custom spider companion a retexture...
