The Ingredients of Tamriel Project

Skyrim is not a land alone, but part of a much greater continent. From all across Tamriel, traders bring their wares; happily exchanged for coin. Not all bring weapons or treasures, many bring simple items – foodstuffs and other harvested goods. For those who practice alchemy, there may be rare treasures to be found amongst the simplest of herbs.

The Ingredients of Tamriel Project

  • Features
  • Installation
  • Credits
  • Still needed & Getting Involved

1. Features
In the Ingredients of Tamriel Project, you will find 216 lore-friendly alchemical ingredients, and new alchemical properties. The ingredients have been created to represent those found in the games Daggerfall, Morrowind (Inc Bloodmoon & Tribunal), The Elder Scrolls Travels series and Oblivion (inc Oblivion Mobile). Also included are some ingredients mentioned in Redguard.
Most ingredients come with new textures. At the moment, there are no new meshes. The textures have been gathered from open source images, many of them photos of real life equivalents; the ginkgo leaves texture have real ginkgo leaf photos, the chokeweed was made from photos of ‘eastern hemlock’.

Now includes new meshes!
  • Ashyams, Bamboo, Hackle-lo, Marshmerrow, Stoneflower Petals and Trama Root by ChickenDownUnder!

2. Installation
Simply extract the .zip file into your Skyrim data folder, or use the download manager.

3. Credits
Textures and ingredients by Nedius, with the following exceptions:
ChickenDownUnder - Ashyams, Bamboo, Hackle-lo, Marshmerrow, Stoneflower Petals and Trama Root (models and textures)

Information gathered from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page
Thanks to the Elder Scrolls community for the help and support.

4. STILL NEEDED:
Here is where YOU can be involved in the Ingredients of Tamriel Project!
I still need several ingredients from previous games for which there are no obvious meshes in game to retexture. If you can make one, I’d love to add it to the project!
See a texture in the mod you don’t like? Could you do a better job? Then please do so! Make a new/better version, send it to me, and I’ll add it to the mod and give you all the credit!

Ingredients needed:
Daggerfall
  • Ghoul’s tongue
  • Gorgon Snake
Morrowind:
  • Ash yam
  • Coda flower
  • Corkroot Bulb
Tribunal
  • Lloramore spines
  • Scrib Cabbage
Bloodmoon
  • Bristleback Leather
Oblivion
  • Aloe Vera leaves
  • Unicorn Horn
Alchemical Effects Needed:
  • Water Walking
  • Detect Life

New Meshes!

The inital relese includes the 'modder resource' of all 200+ new textures and a file that add them to the game.

Now, if all those textures are done, then why is this a 'project'?

Well, I'm hoping that the community can help make it better. I'm far from an expert texturer. My normal maps leave something to be desired. I've left out a dozen or so ingredients as they just don't have appropriate meshes (and I can't make new ones!).

So, I'll be inviting anyone to have a go at making a better texture than one I've done. You can do as many or as few as you'd like; even one would make it 0.5% better than it is with just me... Anyone wanting to submit a mesh (say a better cactus mesh, or a mesh at all for a 'gorgon snake'), a texture, a better normal map, an improved version of an alchemical effect, or an entirely new one, can do so and I'll add it to the project and credit you with your work.

Of course, you don't have to... there are plenty of new textures in the mod as it is. But I'd like it if it became a collaborative effort; for all of us, by all of us.

Thanks!

yes please cooperate with CoSL !!! best thing would be to have all the ingredients stored in one masterfile and then use an optional esp to add them to the world....

btw AliTheLord did you ask cliffworms if you could use his "Tamriel Compendium" mod (176 books from previous ES games)...

cheers

There will be an open 'modders resource' file, and that can be used for CoSL, I assume!

Can you summarise CoSL... being dim but don't 100% get what it is. Is it just a huge esm of new items?

I've not uploaded it yet as I'm still trying to get some of the new alchemical processes working. For example, I can't get Detect Life to work as a potion. Not sure why not.

Yeah, it's basically just a collection of modders resources, with an optional file that integrates them into the game. It will also feature a patcher that will, for example, allow compatilibly between different hunger/survival mods, and mods that add new foods etc.

Ok, then yes, as soon as I've sorted the alchemy effects thing and released it, you can add it to CoSL.

If you're keen, am happy to message you the WIP file. You can have a look at what I've done, make any you'd like to do better , and then just send me your new textures and I'll add them to the file when released.

Now Available at Skyrim Nexus!
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15442

Once again, I'm putting out an open invite to contribute to the project. Anything you would like to contribute - a new or improved texture, better normal maps, working alchemical effects, new models, anything!

Even if you submit just a single new texture, that would make this better than it already is! So please, get in touch!

ChickenDownUnder has very kindly allowed me to use his meshes in the project, making him the third member of the community to contribute to the IOT project!

New meshes include Ash yams, Marshmerrow, bamboo, hacke lo leaves, stone flower and trama root!

They are currently just added to leveled lists. At the moment, that is all. As this is a community project, anyone who would like to create an esp that distributes them differently is more than welcome to!
