Post » Wed May 16, 2012 3:24 am

Basically, the changes are:
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048iShadowMode=1bTreesReceiveShadows=1bDrawLandShadows=1iShadowMapResolution=2048
Here's the INI for you to check it out; I'm getting 40+ FPS with the mentioned rig at 1080. (no AA, AFx16) All settings on Ultra, except shadows. It includes some other minor changes.

bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1

Those settings are supposed to increase graphics quality, I don't think that helps to make the game run better. But if it runs fine that's fine. I wouldn't call it low end though.

I've noticed no FPS impact setting those on. And my PC is well beyond recommended specs, it's borderline on required :)

I noticed Im missing lots of the lines in .ini ... if that's SkyrimPrefs.ini located in Documents/my games/Skyrim. How's that possible?
for example iShadowMapResolutionSecondary is nowhere to be found :/
any help? I'd like to use these tweaks...

You add them in yourself. Basically, skyrim will use a default setting unless you put something there (whatever is in your ini takes precedence). So just make sure you add the line under the right category and you're good (if the category isn't there, add that, too).

Okay, thanks. And does it matter if I add the line just below the name of the category or should I add it to the bottom, below other lines?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't make a difference.

For your viewing pleasure. Some are with 2048, some with 4096, same FPS without the injector, always 40+ FPS ... anywhere. I've been playing with the injector too, so some have it :3
