My Inner Grammar Nazi demands I bring this up and I dare not

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:08 am

I've been on other boards where this would have been more relevant. Like one discussing dragon hoards.

Interesting that you would feel compelled to post about that when some of the posts on this board are so badly written it's virtually impossible to figure out what the writer wanted to say. Other then the fact that he was illiterate I suppose.

Yeah. I would never bother correcting any individual's spelling, grammar or punctuation because (1) I'd never post anything else, (2) some people on game boards speak English as a second language, and (3) it's honestly annoying. But yeah, some people just seem to have no more than a passing familiarity with English as a written language. What kills me is that I know some very smart people who write horribly.

I was rather disappointed that Skyrim dragons don't keep a hoard of gold and jewelry. Nor captive princesses. :(

Good point. The dragon nests have some decent treasure, but nothing Smaug-like. Nothing deserving of the term "hoard".

I can be quite pedantic but really the OP needs to remember that not every member here has English as their first language.

The pedant in me also needs to point out that correcting other members' use of English and pointing out spelling errors etc. is against the rules here and I predict that this thread will be locked.

In other words, get off your high horse.

Ummm...I think you're taking this more seriously than you should.

Screw hoards and princesses, I'd rather see [censored]d princesses.

Grammar thread, had to. Don't hate me.

EDIT: BAH it's censored my beautiful play on words! Damn you politically correct America!

lol

Nothing worse than a good joke ruined by the word censor.

Yes I know the difference between "horde", and "hoard". What was the point of bringing this up?

Actually, this is funny because I just found a typo in the quest menu: Blue palace, lowercase P. Shoddy.

(1) There are those who don't,
(2) I'm bored, and
(3) I found it funny. As did at least some others, apparently.

What's the point of asking what's the point?

Genuine inquisitiveness.

Well, there you go. It's something funny to talk about, for some at least.

Also, I've seen people whose grasp of capitalization seems to have been learned from reading E. E. Cummings. ;)
