Insects in a jar [no major spoilers] : V

I've stumbled upon a few of these and have collected them along the way, however, I'm wondering if they're purely for decoration or if they're linked to a quest. If they're linked to a quest, then that's all i need to know.

I have noticed they appear to have something written under the lid of the jars. Long been curious what the runes say.

There's 4 different types at any rate if you're intrested in making a collection ;p
