To install the game via disk I have to install steam?

I say in a year or 2 something similar is going to happen to console games as well & we won't be buying used games anymore. But heck most used games are usually $5 less or so depending on how old the game is. Not much difference especially since you can buy a game without scratches for $5 more. But on track, there is only 1 thing I like about steam and it's not requiring the disk to play. But there is ways around that already. And yes the whole DRM thing is moot, I wanted to try gears of war for pc but could not due to that being out of date. So no one who bought the game could play. But ppl who pirated the game could still. As long as flaming or such doesn't happen we shouldn't have problems with the mods.

A question tho has anyone encountered a crash when trying to enter dragons reach & exiting it?

Steam is mostly a control system.
The solution for all that don't like it is quite simple:
Don't buy Steam games.

The only language publishers understand is money. Deny them their money and they will be forced to change.
Of course, that only works if enough people do it, which seems unlikely, as Steam is still one of the DRM schemes that is met with a certain level of benevolence.
I don't like it much but I'm (still) willing to accept it as a necessary evil.

Btw., I want to make clear that I don't think pirating your games instead would be the right solution.
In fact piracy only helps to worsen the situation as it gives the (obviously right) impression that the game is in demand and will usually lead to even more restrictions for buyers.

Already planned.....no trade in's on new consoles is the goal. Digital DRM copies tied to your account just like Steam. Buh Bye Gamestop :P
